We have so many bad long-term contracts - it's really good to be tough to wriggle out of this.
The Pelicans can probably squeeze in 2 regime changes/rebuilds before potentially running AD off. Now the 2nd one had better work out or it will be CP3 all over again, but these "terrible contracts" will not be what runs AD off. And the contracts aren't terrible, giving these deals to players a full contract cycle older is terrible and that's what ran CP3 off.
