I started learning to call last year, and I have only blown double reed calls. The DC Brown Sugar, and the Sure Shot Yentzen.

I want a call that will be fairly easy to blow, and will be very versatile. I hunt mostly rice fields. For the sake of conversation lets not consider price.

So far I am considering RNT short barrel, JJ Lares, and Hobo Prime Meat.

Any suggestions?

The best duck call on the market for the money is the Haydel DR-85, hands down. It's a double reed, but is easy to blow and holds up well and doesn't stick during those cold arse mornings. Just can't beat it.

After several years of trying all the high end calls, I now have only one call on my lanyard, a JJ Lares Hybrid. Not only is it a great sounding call, I have never had any problems with it sticking. One other thing Mr. Joe is a fine fellow and awesome to deal with.. Good luck and give this call a serious concideration! Reau

Echo has some good sounding calls.

I have a RNT short barrel. It needs to be tuned but sounds okay I guess. It was free so I won't complain

RNT if you can blow them. If you would like to try one you can blow one of mine. Fwiw the daisy slayer is the easiest one to blow.
