I've noticed a wide variation in emotions from hoping the Tigers get better to loathing everything LSU from players to coaches.

I am not thrilled with this season, but I have put things in perspective and realize its a leisure activity devoted to my alma mater and does not define my success at life.

I truly pity some of the folks here so full of venom that they have lost perspective. It's game guys. Many here act is as if they've busted their asses all week and their life is now skewed by the W-L column.

Hey, I understand the dissatisfaction, but not the over-the-top anger.

It's almost like "Fire Les or our lives will be meaningless!!!!!!". Chill out.

I used to somewhat when I was younger. Not so much the last 5-10 years. Im becoming numb, even when we were champs in 2007. I was thrilled but it didnt make or break my life.

I've learned to get over it after Sunday (the latest).

Saturday night was pretty rough for me, but I went to a bonfire and played beer pong so it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I feel sorry for the losers who are still melting down over this. CptBengal is one of them.

....for some, you'd think so.

I've seen some guys brag on their LSU rooms and walk away sad for them. They put so much of themselves in being a fan that they've lost touch.

Not gonna get much truth out of this thread. You read other threads where posters say "do you accept mediocrity in life?!?!?!", like they are actually doing something to help LSU win other than sitting on arse or buying "baton frickin rouge" t-shirts. Don't act high and mighty like you did something.

This. Heck I turned off TV into early 4th quarter and went to bed. Didn't lose sleep. Had a great duck hunt Sunday morning. Made for a few good minutes of duck blind talk, but mostly talked real life stuff. Life goes on. Some ppl on this board need to get a life.

I was to......I have no personal connection with any of the current team members nor am I related to the coaching staff, thus it goes no further than entertainment and jeering rights at the gym while wearing my LSU apparel.

I woke up Sunday and actually felt more excited about the Saints game. Huh, there's some lemonade!

This.

I have been an LSU fan since I was a kid and hope for their success as it is my Alma Mater as well. I understand people getting upset due to their performance in a loss, but there are so many people here that think its life or death. I really don't understand it.

Exactly... mad during game....over it the next day...Hell, even went to sleep at beginning of 4th when it was obvious the wheels were coming off.

You don't have to be obsessed with LSU football to expect not to get our shite pushed in every other week by inferior talent (Bama withstanding).
Just tired of looking at the goat fuk LSU football has become since mid season last year.

After we won the National Championship in 2003/2007 and my life didn't get any better, I stopped caring.

Just kidding, I still care.

Sorta sad that some LSU fans can no longer appreciate a season that includes beating Auburn, Florida and possibly A&M.

That was a good win.

Florida

Happy about it, but let's be honest, this year's Florida is not your big brother's Florida.

possibly A&M

That's a very big "possibly." Frankly, I'm anticipating a loss.

There is no way in hell 18-22 year old kids should have this much bearing on anyone's life, unless it is your own kid. The rantards don't understand this and probably never will.

Speaking of vicariously, all the bammers that I work with keep asking me in a serious manner if I am ok today, which is amusing b/c all that happened was LSU lost. You would think someone died the way they ask me the question.

You are exactly right man. I feel bad for people who actually let losing a football game interfere with their lives. Why is this worth getting so mad about. I am a very passionate fan during the games, but when it's over, who gives a shite really. Get on with your life.

...there's a reason a large portion of professional sports team fans are uneducated and so crazy passionate. They have not been successful and try to replace it with their team's success on the field of play.

sad but human nature I suppose.
