Eh I thought they were pretty damn good. I don't even like that "style" much. Maybe I was just surprised that the not-seated-for-long show didn't suck. Maybe I'm just a sucker for fun.

edit: I was drunk and someone touched my arse so my perspective may be tainted.

I thought they were good. I walked in and heard the last 5-6 songs. I like the idea behind their songs and how they build them up. I enjoyed the grooves they came up with. I did notice that out of the songs I heard, most during the chorus, was just sounds he sang instead of sentences. Like "yeah, yeah, yeah, or la,la,la. The singer did sing all over the place which was cool. He was very enjoyable to watch. I will go see them again.

As for as them playing better than Mutemath....ya'll need to go somewhere with that....

Mobley is not on that level yet. I will say Paul's voice was not his usual self. But the bass and drums sounded incredible in the union. Just those two being locked in to each other, made it an incredible show. I really didn't hear the guitar much through the show until at the end. I could totally see Mutemath pulling most of this off without a guitar player.

Mobley can become a great band if they keep it up. The singer is really talented and they do have a great sound. It fits somewhere in the musical spectrum compared to other bands I've heard that shouldn't be there.

Platform Prod. did a bad job I think, but being the first show, I hope they learned a lot from it. I probably wouldn't have attended had it not been for MuteMath being on the bill. Charging people $50-60 for a front row seat, only to be told once the show started that the people that bought cheap seats in the back, could walk up to the front and hang out there. Kinda wack, if you ask me. Do it like the Varsity and charge a flat rate for entry.

I do look forward to Platform stepping up and bringing some good shows to BR. I wish them all the best. You live and learn and being the 9th time I've seen MuteMath, it was a great intimate show.

Mobley is a good band, and it always surprises me how much better they get with each show.

I think doing shows at the Lsu union theatre is a huge mistake.

Especially those that are high energy

So how was the show? I decided not to go even thought Mutemath is one of my top 5 favorite bands. Am I regretting my decision or was it one to pass on?
