After some thoughts I began to realize that men get a raw deal about reproductive rights and I want it to change.

Consider that a couple with a physical relationship who are unexpectedly pregnant, the woman is the only one with power.

She can decide to have an abortion or sign up for an adoptive service without even a thought to what the father wants.

The man has no rights, he is obligated to honor her decision no matter what.

If she doesn't want to be a mother she has many options, an unwilling father has basically no ability to discharge his parental responsibilities the way he could if he had just been born a woman.

Therefore this system should change, men should have the right to discharge parental rights to the same extent that women can.

Everything is catered to women voters.

I'm new to the party.

I wish more men would speak out about this, because this current system encourages bad behavior by women.

If a woman can terminate her pregnancy because she can't be bothered, a man should be able to terminate his financial duty to the child, because he can't be bothered.

Men do speak out about it, they just all happen to be chauvinistic pigs not worth listening to.

I've been saying this for a long time. If women can have abortions then men prior to birth should be able to opt out of child support.

Not true. You can go to court and give up all rights to the child. In doing so, however, you will never, ever be able to see that child again or gain parental rights to it.

I'm not familiar with this, as there have been plenty of famous men who had serious child-support bills and they never thought of this?

However, the mother has to release you from financial responsibility.

You should be the one to change. That would be the best solution to this.

Are you kidding? We can't even get a fair shake in front of judges during divorce proceedings with our young children. I don't see anyway we get any say so about our child in the womb.

Is she? Because there is another person in that picture necessary for her to become so. It isn't all about her.

Why? If women got the short end of the stick society would have a stroke; men get the short stick and nobody cares.

I won't lie down for that fight.

It's time for change.

To be fair, we sometimes read about the dude that has fathered 30 children (just a sample number). Women are far less capable of causing that level of birth.

So, for instance: a dude COULD father a child every week for 70 years....a chick? no way.

There is responsibility there. I have never seen the issue with taking responsibility for my actions. And, when one doesn't...he places himself at the mercy of someone ELSE's decision.

I've had MANY friends suggest that it is unfair that blacks seem to get harsher sentences in criminal outcomes. I simply counter with "it has been very easy for me to avoid being arrested. Thus, I do not place myself into that 'unfair' decision tree"

Why should one equal have so much power over another?

How is it that between two equals one has responsibility (the man), and the other has the choices (the woman).

It is not a fair system, and it needs to change.
