Since ending an 11 losing game streak to Alabama in the '82-'83 season, LSU is 15-15-1 against the tide, with an unexplainable 11-4 advantage when playing away from Tiger Stadium. Let's look at these games a little closer...

1982: #11 LSU (7-0-1) vs. #8 Alabama (7-1-0) - W 20-10
1984: #12 LSU (6-1-1) vs. Alabama (3-5-0) - W 16-14
1986: #18 LSU (5-2-0) vs. #6 Alabama (8-1-0) - W 14-10
1988: #13 LSU (5-2-0) vs. #18 Alabama (6-1-0) - W 19-18
1990: LSU (4-4-0) vs. Alabama (4-4-0) - L 03-24
1993: LSU (3-5-0) vs. #5 Alabama (7-0-1) - W 17-13
1995: LSU (4-3-1) vs. #16 Alabama (6-2-0) - L 03-10
1997: #16 LSU (6-2-0) vs. Alabama (4-4-0) - W 27-0
1999: LSU (2-6-0) vs. #12 Alabama (6-2-0) - L 17-23
2001: LSU (4-3-0) vs. Alabama (3-4-0) - W 35-21
2003: #4 LSU (8-1-0) vs. Alabama (4-6-0) - W 27-3
2005: #5 LSU (7-1-0) vs. #4 Alabama (9-0-0) - W 16-13
2007: #3 LSU (7-1-0) vs. #16 Alabama (6-2-0) - W 41-34
2009: #9 LSU (7-1-0) vs. #3 Alabama (8-0-0) - L 24-15
2011: #1 LSU (8-0-0) vs. #2 Alabama (8-0-0) - W 9-6

LSU is:

6-1 in games where both teams are ranked.

5-3 in games as the lesser ranked team or team with worse record.

5-1 in the last 6 games at Alabama during the Golden Era of LSU football, "replay-gate" being the only loss.

11 of 15 games were decided by 10 points or less.

2 of the Tiger's 4 losses in this span were as big underdogs, yet were one score games, with "replay-gate" being only a 9-point margin.

All of this is to say that this Tiger team has as good of a chance to win as any of the previous 15 to make the trip to Alabama. Can't wait for another hard fought game in this series, and LSU being the team to bring an end to the Mulligan Dynasty in Tuscaloosa.

LSU 27-24, with a missed Bama FG for old times' sake.

1999 all Booty had to do was throw the ball to the open receiver and that would be a "W". I still cannot believe he tried to be a Hero and run the ball!!

Our defense is averaging less than 25 points a game and that's with Georgia factored in. I'm sure Alabama will drive and put up points but I'm also sure we'll be fine. This is where Cam earns another fat paycheck.

I was at that game. They also let 7 seconds run off the clock even though there was a Bama player laying in the end zone with a broke leg. Home cooking, Bama style.

Ended an impressive Tide winning streak and unfortunately extended the career of the worst coach in LSU history.

what's even more inexplicable is our 4-11-1 record in T.S. During that same time span.

Maybe the players feed off the resentment of the opposing fans more than feed off the home fans? Or maybe LSU and Bama just like to piss each other off at home.
