Seeing George Strait live is on my bucket list. He will in Bossier in January. The only problem is that Dbag Aldean is opening for him at that location. Do I drive the extra 3 hours to see him somewhere else or risk timing it just right where I get there between acts where I don't spoil my ears with The Dirt Road Anthem. Why the frick would Strait even have him open for him?

You don't like Jason Aldean. You're so cool.

See him. If it is reserved seating, just show up late. Aldean sucks but King George is worth it.

When I saw him, he had Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert as support. They were both actually really good but not acts I would choose to see if it were left up to me.

The point is, George Strait is amazing and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you decided to skip the showm

Yeah, I'll be there. My dad had a greatest hits tape cassette that we used to wear out on Camping and Snow Skiing trips. The only artist I still listen to that I listened to when I was 10. Always wanted to see him live.

I'm not that picky on opening acts and would show up in time for most them but not Aldean. Apparently that makes me a pretentious dbag in Astros mind.

The reason the opening act stuck out to me was because they had the picture blurred for a month and as people shared it it became clear. The first thing I said was that I hope that's not Aldean. Then as it got clearer I realized it was.

You'll enjoy the show no matter what you do. If you hate Aldean that much then go late. It's live music. It's not like your ears will burn off because you don't like the singer. I just don't get the hate, and how you could legit choose to not go to a show you want to see because of 1 act. Especially King George.

He's like the 80's hair metal version of modern day country music

I never said in the original post that Aldean would keep me from seeing the show.

Normally I would say that is some rational advice, but in this case I do think my ears would melt off my skull.

Aldean does have some terrible songs, but he also has some very good ones.

CMA Entertainer of the Year

They got something right.

See him if you can. I'm serious. His supporting act sucks, so what? He is a legend. Do yourself a favor.

I was at his "last" concert in San Antonio.

He put on a hell of a show, and at the end..."I'll see you again next year!"

Um...what?

He's touring again. It's a ploy and it's totally working.
