Saw him a few years back at the New Orleans Arena with Reba. Great show. Definitely worth going to see him no matter who the opening act is.

The wife and I saw him in B'ham a few years ago.

Same here. I have tickets for both shows and I actually like Aldean, but unfortunately a Thursday night right after Christmas/New Years doesn't work out well for me. I saw Strait with Martina in New Orleans back in April. I've always liked Martina but wouldn't say I liked her enough to go see her live, but I thought she was great live and really enjoyed her part of the show. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised, but doubtful. With any luck, she will have to pull out and he will pick up one of the folks from Georgia. Surprised he didn't do that to start with.

Yeah Clapton got me with this trick too.
"It's the last time I'm touring in the US. I'm retiring from touring and living my days out in England"

Well I better get tickets then, might be my only chance. Saw him at the arena, he's been back within in driving distance at least once on a different tour.

How in the heck do you secure concert tickets like this? I called the minute they went on sale and they were out.

Scalpers ruin everything for everyone.

I actually scored a free ticket from a friend who had two and invited me. I know she paid $130 apiece and they were total nosebleeds, but it was still an awesome show and I loved it. And it was FREE for me so I can't complain at all. I want to say she got them through Craigslist but I can't be sure. I can ask if you want, may give you and idea of where to start.

For these, you could have joined the George Strait fan club for 15 bucks and had the option to buy on Tuesday. Also there was an AMEX presale the same day. Buy using an AMEX card or for premium card members they had a special code. I joined the fan club back in the summer. Well worth the 15 bucks for the ticket presales. I think you have to be a member for at least 7 days before a presale to be included.

Just go to it and forget that suck arse Jason aldean. George Strait is terrific.

When I went they had some girl open for him. Shortly after her was Ronnie milsap.

That girl just happened to be Taylor Swift.

Now that it is sold out what are my best options for securing two tickets?

Probably stubhub or eBay to be sure you get them, or you could watch Craigslist closer to the date of the show. Like I said, a Thursday night right after Christmas/New Years, might have some folks backing out, but I don't know. I know you don't like Aldean, but he would have probably sold it out by himself, so this one might be tough to get any minus a fairly substantial markup.

Dbag Aldean is opening for him at that location.

PFFT... You worry too much. That sounds like an awesome 45 minutes of empty beer lines and quiet drinking while all the kids listen to crap. You get to hang out with your group. Pisser lines will be short too. Get comfy buzz and stroll to your seats for George and catch the last few minutes of Aldean and mock him with usual "this is what's wrong with country" banter.

FYI George is OLD and can do whatever the frick he wants!!! And his songs are old and from an era of 2:30 to 3:00 songs. He speaks very little and just plays songs after song. This makes his sets short for the amount of cash you will spend. He will do ONE encore. And when he plays "Cowboy Rides Away" either head for the exits or watch all the tail walk up to hand him a rose. Because he is DONE singing.
