To make room for cornerback Eric Wright. Per ESPN
I know people wanted him in offseason. Don't shoot the messenger

our lack of production at OLB is what is holding this team back.

Sign him now, cut Ingram. (not serious, well kinda)

Too late now, he proved he can't play anymore. Gets to spend more time with Kerry, though.

Dude has had a bad year.
He's done.
He's done.

He hasn't been active for the last three games.

I wouldn't mind him his contract is a joke plus he might just be a very good player in the Rob Ryan system

absolutely take him on the cheap

just curious, who ya'll cutting to make room for him?
rotoworld blurbs on him-
Appearing in just three games with San Francisco, 32-year-old Asomugha graded out negatively as both a pass and run defender in Pro Football Focus' ratings, before getting hurt and ultimately benched for Tramaine Brock. Nov 4
Asomugha has been a healthy scratch the past three games and is the No. 5 corner. He's near the bottom of Pro Football Focus' corner ratings. Oct 25
Asomugha has lost No. 3 corner duties to Tramaine Brock and he's also playing behind undrafted rookie Darryl Morris. It's obvious that his struggles in Philly were not due to the Wide 9 scheme. Asomugha has been one of the league's worst corners ever since he left Oakland following the 2010 season. Oct 21
49ers CB Nnamdi Asomugha is undergoing an MRI on his right knee Monday.
Asomugha suffered the injury getting trucked by Ahmad Bradshaw on Sunday. The Niners' nickel back, Asomugha has graded out as a bottom-nine corner in Pro Football Focus' ratings. It wasn't just the scheme in Philly. Sep 23

If he's not injured, then he'd be a nice pick-up for depth, especially before that 49ers game for scouting purposes.

As big as I and the Saints were on Nnamdi, it appears to have been a blessing in disguise we didn't get him. I still have a hard time believing he's fallen off that much in such a short period of time... I know the shelf life of corners is limited but you'd think Nnamdi still have something left in the tank.

If we sign him we either cut cadet or sweeting.

Might as well see if Deion has anything left while we're at it.
Nnamdi's not better than any of our top 4 corners

His name is much more recognizable tho. And he was an All Pro three teams ago. He doesn't play special teams and is 32.
As far as production diminishing just think Sharper. All world in that magic 09 season. Played 8 games in 2010. Then he was done. He wanted to continue playing but couldn't get a contract in 3-4 workouts.

Cut Cadet? Why? If Sproles is out do you want to see Lance Moore returning kicks too?
