but does not end up in the title game every year is he a good coach (excluding recruiting)? I would say no, probably below average. What say you?

#1 HS kid doesn't necessarily equate to #1 college kid, so no

Getting a Top Recruiting Class does not guarantee a NC. There are two many variables to getting a NC.

really they should never lose a game or even be in a close game. When you recruit the #1 class every year by a lot, you should win the NC every year. He is the greatest recruiter of all time but really just an average coach. He has an incredible line of shite with him and is backed up by ESPN and the like. He was exposed as a coach when he went to the NFL.

Everyone always posts this but he had awful Qb's and the year after he left the Dolphins went 1-15. It's not like he took over the Super Bowl favorite and missed the playoffs. Petrino did a worse job in the NFL than Saban and nobody ever questioned his coaching ability when he was making Les look dumb with 3 star recruits.

Bama and FSU have recruited the best out of anybody the past 3 or so years and it's showing on the field. Both are deep with athletes

We had a big down year in 2012 and some major evaluation errors defensively in the 2011 class. This years freshmen class and the class of 2014 coming in will restock the shelf with top flight athletes

LSU SHOULD be top 3 the next two years with tons of talent leaning us in '14. I have no doubt in my mind that only a select few retards will be saying fire Miles after the 2014 season.

We are going to be loaded on offense and defense the next few years if we get dream team 2014.

You may have not noticed, but since Saban got his recruiting machine cranking at Bama, he's damn near won an NC every year.

Part of being a good or great coach is recruiting.

You can't exclude that.

After that, it's about player development, conditioning, etc.

There are a bunch of variables that have to line up for a kid to do in college football what he did in high school football.

It's a leap.

Look at Michael Ford. Great player in HS, very good in college. His numbers in HS are insane.

Terrance Magee, another example. His numbers in HS are off the charts jaw dropping. Good so far in college.

Not dumping on either of these guys, I'd be the last guy to do that.

Just pointing out a 5* player in HS doesn't equal a home run player in college.

And to say the head coach is not good for not being in the BCSNG year after year with top recruiting classes, is pretty ridiculous.

Florida has very strong recruiting classes year after year. Look at them now.

Why do you have to hyperventilate to make a point? Magee was a 3*.

And Hester was a 2.

The point I was making is that being amazing players in HS sometimes doesn't transfer to collegiate play.

Hyperventilate? Seems like you're the one that's worked up.

Look dufus... you and your clone Neuroticrocmancer both just run on like gay-bar queens. Your rambling screed did NOT point out 5* players that didn't prove to be good in college. It mentioned some 3* players that proved to be good... different thing. Plus you always try to pump...such as mentioning Magee, "with insane HS numbers (BS)" and then making a reference to 5*. What is the point of this credibility pumping? To show you are a fool?

Second, your stupid line asked about a team with top two recruiting class EVERY YEAR... not a Florida with a top 5 or 6 recruiting class..

Third, you can have a top recruiting class but if 90 percent of your recruits are linebackers, your team might not be very good.

Fourth... why don't you try thinking before you babble like a creatin.
