Transporting fish?

Got the pond finished up and am heading to Shepherd's in Maurice tomorrow morning to pick up 600 hybrid coppernose bluegill....this guy right here forgot to ask if they provided transport bags, or if I needed to have a tank of some sort. Do most hatcheries provide, and if not, what's my best option for transport??

They will give you bags, if not that's a shitty hatchery

shepherd's will hand them to you in bags and make sure they are properly loaded. he fills his bags up with straight O2 after loading the fish in them. he's a good guy and will take care of you. don't be afraid to ask questions he wants happy customers.

Thanks Zac. Mack, talked to Chris this morning on the phone for a good while. Seems like a heck of a good guy, and talked me through everything I needed to do to manage a productive pond. Even though it's a long drive, glad I decided to use him instead of the fish truck that rolls through town every few months.

the hatcheries making the "milk run" thru the co-ops are not bad guys and are fisheries-educated. however they ain't gona' give you the level of detail/service chris is gona give you.
side story: i have a friend with $, he worked for it. he built 2 ponds on his property and wanted them to be really first class. chris went out and did water test after the ponds were filled and stabilized and made water quality recomendations. once this was done chris went back out, verified what was done, made some small adjustments, then put had my buddy put the fish in. yes, my buddy paid, but chris held his hand thru the whole thing for a newbe that now has a PERFECT bass pond and a PERFECT bream pond, which is what he wanted and his budget allowed.

Picked up 750 hybrid coppernose bluegill from Chris at Shepherd Sport fish this a.m. ANYONE looking to stock a pond should definitely use him. Man knows his stuff and will help you in any way possible. I will drive the 2 hours to his place any time I need fish. Awesome experience.

He said 6-8 months the bream will be eating-worthy. Come on
ETA: You bring the Miller Lite, I'll supply the hot grease
