If you are a YAY, what would it take, this season, to turn you into a NAY?

What would it take for Demps to fire Monty?

I've been the biggest Monty supporter year in and year out, but I'm slowly turning on him. The Indiana game was the first time I've ever doubted that he was the right guy for the job.

Still YAY...for now

Monty has 3 "red flags" about his coaching style.

1) Rotations: Do we see lots of Stiemsma and not enough Ryan Anderson because Monty thinks a "true center" is better than a much better player? Does Tyreke and his big salary go to waste because Monty wants Lance Thomas' defense?

2) 3rd Quarter Funk/Lack of in game adjustments. I give Monty a pass for game one because Hibbert should have been on the bench, but we've seen it happen enough that if it keeps happening you have to think it's an issue that will not change until you get a new coach.

3) Poor inbounds play. I remember the last CP3 Hornets having quite a bit of success on inbounds plays at the end of games, both offensively and defensively. Hopefully it's something that isn't an issue this year.

Same here.

Its too early this year to condemn him obviously, but, the SAME things keep popping up:

Terrible 3rd Quarters
Inability to make adjustments at the half
Completely outcoached on the Xs and Os of the game
Development of young players is spotty
Yanks young players for a bad play and then puts in someone worse
Stubborness
Bizarre rotations

I see this team being on the cusp of being very good, and for the first time I doubt that Monty is the one to get us there. I really want to see more out of him.

YAY, but depending on injuries , if we don't make the playoffs this year I'll be leaning towards Nay

Nay. Still dont understand why both aminu and thomas were on the floor to end the game and Tyreke was on the sidelines.

None of the players on the team have enough juice to get Monty out, and Demps won't pull the trigger in the middle of the season if coaching is the reason for the team struggling. This is his first year with new talent to fire him this year would be a big mistake.

A lot of teams struggle in the third. The other team has a coaching staff as well, they make adjustments at half time.

The only young talent Monty has had is AD. And last I checked his game has improved since last season.

There is no one else to put in.

You won't find a coach in the NBA who isn't stubborn.

Did he hurt in during the game or just played too many mins? I assume its the 2nd bc he seemed ok when he checked out with 5 mins left.

If too many mins then shame on Monty for not properly restricting his mins so he will be available to close out the game.

Man these topics...smh. 1 game in fellas, one. My only problem is the 3rd quarters really. I don't really care much about anything else. When. He fixes that I'm good.

And don't forget, a pretty bad game by him. But it could've been the ankle.

Demps and Monty will be gone before the Pels win a playoff series.

I didn't notice it either, but others have said they saw him tweak it in the 3rd I think.

Before we throw the baby out with the bathwater, perhaps we need different assistants. From a Phil Jackson interview today:

Tex was the hard nose with the system. Phil had team building skills+ability to relate. A perfect match for Pip/MJ/Kobe/Shaq #sethdavisshow

Honestly Ayers and Hanners have pretty solid resume's, so I don't want to run them out of town, but if Monty needs more help to be great, either get him more help or get a coach that doesn't need help.

If Lance Thomas is the best we have to close out a game then we are in trouble. Tyreke at 75% is still a much better option than LT.
