Man, my take from last night's game is that we're just a SF away

from being a legit contender. Aminu was worthless last night. There has to be someone out there that's better than Aminu. At best he should be coming off the bench for us.

Is it safe to say at this point that Aminu is a bust?

no he won't.

C is the bigger concern to me.
We don't need Aminu to score because he's playing alongside Davis, Holiday, and Gordon. His job is to defend and rebound.

It's beyond me how someone could ignore this...

I should have said he will play less minutes once Anderson is healthy. He's terrible but Anderson will be a huge defensive liability for us at the 3.
We missed those 3 pointers last night

If the bench scored more than 12 last night, no one would be talking about Aminu today.

Evans was limping the whole game and we knew we were thin before the game started

SF didn't stop us from winning that game. At all
Aminu's never gonna have pretty box scores with the scorers we have now. But he played ok. He created some turnovers and guarded George about as well as anyone not named Lebron could, until George just got hot.
Aminu's ONLY here to defend, rebound, and run the floor when we get stops. He defended ok. Rebounded ok. And we didn't run a lot because we weren't getting stops late.
Meanwhile we have three bigs in our rotation(Stiemsma, Thomas, Onuako) who should be coming off the bench in the Chinese league.

We were making them in the first half
They did a great job on Morrow though who we'll need to step up until Anderson gets back to try to fill that void

I really think C is a more glaring problem than SF. It also make me realize how important Ryno is to the bench. He plays last night we win.

This. I think you can mask the need for a true SF by going with a 3 guard line up (which a lot of teams are doing anyway), especially with a big guard like Tyreke. You can't mask the need for a Center, though. We were lucky to have drawn Hibbert into foul trouble early and often, but he's good enough to beat us by himself when being guarded by Stiemsma or Smith.

No we're not. We're a C away. Aminu can play fine in his role. And can do it cheap for us.

a SF and C…which is a long way away.
Hibbert being in foul trouble masked our C deficiency.
Hibbert in foul trouble, Indy on a back-to-back, and all the excitement of opening night and still couldn't get the win. Pelican fans need to temper expectations a tad.
This team will be solid, last night shows we have a lot of growing to do.

They may be the second best team in the NBA. The back to backs become a bigger deal further in the season.

We need to temper our expectations because we led one of the best teams in the NBA all night without our key bench player? Please. Our other main addition to bench was rusty/still hurting. He will make a huge difference when he's going good.
With Ryan, Lance freakin Thomas won't see the floor. Not saying this team is perfect but if the refs were worth a damn, Hibbert would have fouled out. Hell, EG should have had an and 1 to close the deficit to 2 at the end of the game.
We all know this isn't a championship team but I'm encouraged by a number of things.
