Anybody ever tried making this kind of grilled cheese?

A chick I know posted a pic and recipe on FB:

Make an eggwash with parm cheese and italian seasoning in it. Dip the bread in the wash and then fry up the sammich. Looked pretty tasty...

I haven't. I think if I did it I would do a heavy egg, egg wash with half and half and then dip the sandwich into a mixture of 3 pats parm to one part bread crumbs.


I don't know how it would come out.

Do you still put cheese in between the battered bread slices?

If not, that just sounds like cheese bread and not a grilled cheese.

Indytiger, where are some good places in downtown Indy to watch a game with decent food and drink?

I had an email from Food52 this morning in which brioche was dipped into a cream and condensed milk concoction and then broiled with sugar on it. Looked good in the pics.
