Should we have drafted Meyers Leonard over Austin?

We could really use a capable big this year and I'm not sure if we shouldn't have taken Leonard over Austin. Based on his #'s last year, if he played 25 min/game, we'd probably be looking at 8 ppg, 8 rpg, 1 bpg, while shooting 50%+ from the field and 80% from the line. That would be an awesome addition to a roster like this one. I'm not sure Leonard will ever be more than that and while Austin hasn't shown it yet, he still has potential. Thoughts?

From what we've seen from Austin, it's a fair question

You don't want Meyers Leonard then. They brought in Lopez for a reason.

So Leonard has topped out at 21, but Austin can still improve?

I really think we get too focused on the Center position, because we have two really good PF's. When you could accomplish the same types of things, if they got a really good, physical PF. Then they could get away with playing Davis at Center. Let's say they would have made the Randolph trade. You could play Davis at the Center then, cause Randolph does all the banging (or slide Randolph to Center when you pair him with Anderson). There is a much deeper group of guys they could look at then, that are easier or might be available (like Randolph, Boozer, Varejao, etc). According to the Grantland reviews, David Lee might be dangled in trade rumors. Would a Lee/Davis front court work? Or what about if Amare was bought out or if NY agreed to cover most of his contract in a trade (if that is possible)?

I think its pretty clear that at some point, we are going to make a move for a big. Whether that's just a minor, serviceable player, a young, or a big trade for a proven player...I don't know.

But we are going to make a move at some point. Cleveland Steamer and Jason Smith won't be the starting 5s all year.

Ive watched leonard a few times and he looks lost when he plays, He has great physical tools but doesnt use them well. Our bigs are better than him. Id rather have rivers.

Last year we should have thrown rivers or something into the Holiday trade to pick up steven adams with Philly's #11 pick.

What he did to us
