Saw these places mentioned here a couple times, I've had the burger place a few times and enjoyed it, Acme Taco quickly became my favorite Mexican place around here. I can't recall eating something that I didn't thoroughly enjoy, but they(Acme Taco) were in such a horrible location that it had to hurt their business, off University near I10.

Accord to their facebook page the partners have split up, Acme Burger will be closing, Acme Taco will be moving into AB's location in the Oil Center and a new Acme Taco-like restaurant will be opening at a new, un-named location by the chef who created Acme Taco. Glad to see Acme Taco is moving to a better, although still not ideal location. Interested to see what this new place will be like as well.

I liked the food at Acme Burger, but I never went there much and I really don't know why. I think maybe there's something wonky about that space. Even way back when it was Essie's it just didn't seem like a great place to eat a meal because of the ambience, lighting, or whatever.

Every restaurant has failed in that spot, and every single one, except that horrible Mexican place that was there a couple of months, had great food.

This, the grilled mac and cheese. I always said location would hurt both places, I thought the food was really good and the concepts were great. Acme Taco is amazing so I'm hoping sticking it in the Oilcenter won't be it's death. Interested to see what the new Acme Taco inspired place will be like, I'm assuming it'll be a similar concept. As of now both Acme Taco and Acme Burger are closed.
