Obamacare blame game heats up

Let the fun and games begin. This gonna be funny shite.

For weeks, CGI and other contractors working on the problematic Obamacare site have taken silent beatings. Now as congressional hearings loom, they’re laying out the trappings of their defense – a push back against critics who say the hired tech guns flubbed the giant project.

Contractors are aiming to redirect blame at the Obama administration and possibly each other, said a source knowledgeable about CGI’s actions.

In interviews earlier this year with the Oversight committee, several of the contractors said the White House was slow to release relevant data. Republicans on the committee criticized the delays and what they called the White House’s heavy role in the process.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services did not hand over final technical requirements until this May, the source said, which slowed down the process. For some contractors, such as CGI, a third of the work had to be redone. CMS disputes that it waited until late spring to provide important information.

Other decisions were made late in the process, according to information gathered by the House oversight committee. The administration told contractors one month before HealthCare.gov went up to make consumers register before they see prices, the committee found. The idea of getting through the clunky registration process before seeing prices has been blamed for the poor customer experience.

Supporters of the health law argue that they wanted consumers to see their tax subsidies before they got to the “sticker” price of a new insurance plan. They feared people would back off from buying insurance based on the sticker price if they didn’t see the subsidy.

the govt is a confederacy of dunces. you can go to BCBS and see prices as is or with an "estimate" of subsidy... just by filling out a form that takes 10 seconds.

Hopefully, of course that is one of the reasons the liar in chief's henchmen were wary of who to hire, they feared oversight.

This much of a disaster over a stupid Expedia-like website. The insurance companies arent even getting the correct information about the insured because the website is a fricking disaster.

Imagine the all-out cluster frick when people try to use this insurance and find they aren't covered because someone's wife was listed as their 12 year old daughter by accident.

People like awant on here won't give two shits about that because his side won.

This is a disaster of epic proportions in the making.

How anyone can possibly defend this ridiculous 'hide the ball' tactic on something that is supposed to be so vital and integral to the well being of every person is absolutely beyond comprehension.
