To those who say we are spoiled fans...

You're misinterpreting our reactions to the football games. Yes, I'm young and I started liking LSU football around 2001-2002. I wasn't there for the 90s and the Curley Hullman years. I didn't witness the 3-8 seasons and the 58-3 blowout loss to Florida.
But the thing is, if we did go 3-8, I would at least not care as much and just kind of admit that this is a down time for our football program. The thing that sucks about going 10-3 every year is that we have the talent and potential to be the best, yet we just miss the mark sometimes. It just gets kind of frustrating. We have enough success to keep the fans interested, but not enough success to rejoice in.
For instance, most people would look at a 13-1 season as incredible. You win all of your games except one. Yet, I know for a fact that our fanbase doesn't look too kindly to on the 2011 season. Why? Because it was frustrating for our team to be so good and have such a great season just to lose it all.

You are the definition of spoiled, and I'm not much older than you.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

So undefeated or disappointed?
Sounds reasonable.

Expecting the best while paying pretty much top money - it's not too much to ask. Les Miles is clearly capable of assembling another team like 2011, but like everyone knows, he actually has to do it.
One thing I've noticed about Miles and his pressers - he talks a lot without backing up his claims. "We'll get it fixed" "We should've done this as was practiced" etc etc.
I still have tons of faith in the dude personally although not everyone shares my sentiment.

It is good to be disappointed with not winning the championship every year. But it is ridiculous to act like winning 10+ games a year is a failure and a waste of a season.

As I walked out of VHS on saturday I realized the frustration that I felt (though it sucked) was better than the feeling I had in the 90s. The fact that you didn't follow the team then means you can't compare the two feelings. Most of us want the tigers to do well and it is reasonable to not be happy when they don't but I'm still happy that year in and year out the tigers have a shot at a title.

If you don't think that your post perfectly describes what spoiled is, then you don't know what that word means.
That said, people work their arse off to spoil their kids just the same way that LSU has worked its arse off to spoil us. And the fact that you are spoiled necessarily means that LSU has been very successful recently; and that is a good thing.
I'm not asking you to magically stop being spoiled and be happy with any product put onto the field, but just try to keep a little perspective. Not everyone needs to fall into one extreme or the other.

This
Show me a team that's gone three straight seasons with only one loss playing a schedule like LSU's

While I do agree, those times were bad knowing week in and week out we had no chance of even competing much less winning. The problem is watching that game gives me close to that feeling again. I mean I really don't think we can do anything to stop Bama and aTm. We stand a chance against the aggies, because there d sucks. If Mett and the offense don't show up we are fricked.

I honestly miss the days when LSU was going 8-4 and 9-3. The games were fun then. The fans were fun. They got excited when LSU would take the lead, or stop the opposing team. Now, they continually bitch about how the lead should be more and that the defense allowed the other team to get a first down on that drive.
Hell, we used to love close games when we were the underdog. Now we hate victories as much as losses because we should be "blowing out every team in existence and never lose."
It's the entitlement mentality that you people bitch about so much with certain demographics. Look in the mirror, you have it too.

You are a spoiled frick. I loved that season. One of the most memorable seasons we have ever had. There was one day in that entire season I didn't enjoy. It didn't ruin the undefeated SEC Championship season for me.
ETA: There is one program (maybe 2.. maybe) in all of college football that wouldn't trade their results since 2001 with LSU's. You are spoiled.

I especially like that you didn't come back to even attempt to justify this abortion of a thread. I'm sure you're lurking though, and I bet you're sad this thread didn't get more replies than it did. Maybe next time.

Expectations are to compete for the SEC West, SEC Champ, BCS Champ. Problem is that to do any of those, you have to nearly go unbeaten.

10-3 this year would be overachieving. So I disagree that you can just look at the win total and say they should've won more. I would be elated with 10-3 this year.

And 11-2 with wins against Bama and A&M is still possible. That would be exceptional. Any rational fan would have taken that at the beginning of the year, given our attrition.

It's the fact we lost to Ole Miss, a lesser talented team with 6 starters out.

Entitlement? Buddy I don't why you are referring to all the minions who voted for Obama here but I'll play. I certainly don't expect a damn thing given to me and never have. What I do expect is people to work hard and do their jobs above and beyond in life and on the football field. What was shown on Saturday night was the epitome of entitlement from our team and coaches. Not the Fans.
