3rd and 9, 3rd and 10, 3rd and 11, 3rd and 15... Were just some of the downs in critical situations I remembered from last night. Why can't we ever get a critical 3rd down stop?! It's nuts. Lets really get after it on 1st and 2nd down, and back off on 3rd. Lets not play man, lets only send 4 down lineman, throw in a little zone, should work out alright eh?? Hmm... Lemme see... Bama 2012, UGA 2013... Yeah works great Chavis!! Here I was thinking with a 3rd and 9 stop with about 2 minutes left that we would get the ball back lmao!! And yeah Mett had a bad game, but after the 3 picks, it was still only 10-0. So you have to put this on the defense once again. Not 1 single playmaker on this D. But that's no excuse for Chavis not to "trust" them and go zone in every tight spot. We play decent D on 1st and 2nd down. Then serve 3rd down up on a platter, no QB pressure either. I know the D is young but damn, gimme a break.

Tennessee fans told us when he got here, have fun with "3rd and Chavis." We should have seen it coming.

Time to rediscover my life and take a hiatus. But I'll leave w/ this, he's called 3rd and Chavis for a reason. LSU's shitty defensive gameplan made an All-American out of an average (at best) SEC QB. Bo Wallace?! He has the worst windup/delivery/throwing motion I've ever seen, but strangely, if you give ANYONE time to sit in the pocket, gain confidence, you get what you got last night. Chavis is a good, solid, defensive coach. (But he isn't worth $1 mil per, and neither is Lester worth whatever ridiculous sum he's plunking down). But he dials up stale, passive, gameplans, that the rest of the league is onto. They see him coming from a mile away. Like last night. No, he doesn't "dial up" shitty gameplans, he phones them in. Horrible. After watching a similar shitty gameplan let UGA beat the Tigers, I watched the Alabama defense crowd the line, blitz, pressure Ol Miss' 3d tier SEC QB all night, and they shut them out. Chavis DOES NOT LEARN from the past. If we had played an aggressive defense EVERY frickING GAME this season, we'd be undefeated.

Fire Miles? No. Because the idiots that hire coaches may very well frick up the hire (does the Bd of Supv's STILL want to hire Pelini??) I would love to see what Chris Peterson, or Charley Strong, could do w/ these players, facilities, etc. etc. etc.

Now, fire Studrawa? Yep. He wasn't a good OC, and he's not a very good OL coach, and apparently he's not a good recruiter.

Chavis? He's solid. That's all I can muster right now. He will continue to put together bad gameplans and allow subpar QBs to have time, gain confidence, and pick his defense apart. So, you tell me ... does that bode well for the future.

See ya.

Absolutely killed us all night long. Exactly where you want to put the opposing offense then we let them off the hook time after time.

I said this last night. Just one 3rd down stop in the 2nd half and we win this game.

Not just the Bama and GA games.....Clemson last yr, the game last night.....it's a disturbing pattern. Even back to 2010, LSU was ahead going into the 4th qtr against AU but the D couldn't hold out. It's frustrating to watch consistent problems over the course of years and nothing done to correct them.

TigerJeff - couldn't agree more

Miles made his dumb mistakes, but this is on Chavis. His defense is unwatchable. Never adjusts.

I honestly wanted us to run it on 2nd down so we could run more time off of the clock. But Mett threw a TD.

I'm as big a LSU fan as anybody, but when we tied the game and gave them the ball back with just over 3 minutes left, I KNEW we were going to lose. How many games have we lost by giving the opposing team the ball, a few minutes and LSU having less than a 7 point lead. It makes me sick to my stomach.

That's why we should be more than 7 points ahead at that point knowing how our defense is....

The one I remember the most is when Barrow didn't stay with his guy on an out (or maybe crossing) route.....it was at the very end of the 3rd quarter.
