Job #1 is not to get anyone on the offense ready for next year. Mett had a bad game; that's it.
Lack of playmakers on the defense is the problem, as it has been all season. That's where this team needs to work.

Mett had a bad first half last night. Coming into last night's game, he was 4th in D1A QB ratings. He's had a fantastic year so far.
But yes, by all means, let's put in the freshman who has dumped off one pass so far.

Too late for that one to happen. As usual, when Miles had big leads the younger QB sat on the bench and got hand off time at the end.
If I am Miles, I look at that team and say we got beat by a bunch of back ups last night.
We start our 2nd team against Furman and rest our starters. If our backups cannot beat Furman, we don't deserve to be on the field.

Mett and Hill should have inflated their numbers by halftime and they should be spectators in the 2nd half.
Then again, we could play down to the competition as has frequently been the case often in Miles' tenure. I'm not sure you can trust this defense to stop anyone but Furman should be manageable. If the D performs well, all of the pollyanna fans will come here beating their chests.

I'm sure recruits love to see an incompetent coach shite on his senior QB midway through the season for a bad half of one game.
Until Les learns how to manage his team (mentally and strategically)...and until he understands how those crazy clocks work at Vaught-Hemingway stadium....he can't point a single fricking finger at anyone.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I don't think he wants Mett benched. Mett had a bad half but he is the unquestioned starter and the best QB we have had in years. But once we get a comfortable lead, I too would like to see the backup come in and get valuable experience for next season.

I'm not suggesting benching Mett. I just mean get him off early and get Jennings in there or let Jennings have a few 1st half series after Mett has a nice drive
