So Tate and Marie were both from the 9th ward..... Check

I'm a bit disappointed that they haven't done their research about the neighborhoods in Nola. It would make more sense for a frat boy like Tate to be from Uptown or Lakeview/Lake Vista.

So I'm watching this show with my SO.
I really really dig the witchcraft/voodoo part of the story.
But the whole Frankentate shite is just stupid. It fits nowhere. It's just a couple teenage girls putting together a broken Ken doll. It's ridiculous.
I'm enjoying the rest of the story. But I just can't get behind putting Tate back together. It doesn't even fit into the story and makes zero sense. It's dumb.

It looks like a plot device to bring the necromancer chick to the group. Plus the whole bringing someone back to life with witchcraft thing is a staple in a lot of witchcraft movies/shows. It's kind of silly to say it doesn't fit anywhere considering its the second episode and we aren't sure where its going yet. It could be the major plot line for the season for all we know.

That's because Hollywood thinks all New Orleans is, is the French Quarter, swamps, and the 9th Ward.

modern retelling of the second most popular monster story of all time. Interesting idea I think.
I don't like that they couldn't use the real LaLaurie mansion. It is the grandest house in the city(quarter still to this day) it needs more umph than that condo on Dauphine they are using.
It isn't supposed to be a breaking bad cerebral replacement.

That is what people outside the area think.
Let's be honest. You can't possibly drive into the city without going through swampland. There is still swampland in city limits (English Turn area, even has farms in NOLA) so there is swamp here. It isn't all there is, but for an outsider, the fact that we are circled by swampland is memorable.'
The show is set in the garden district, the location used is garden district, so Uptown has been shown.
The 9th ward was the face of the city during Katrina. And yes. "shocker" white people do live in some places in the 9th ward.
Not all Jewlane kids are rich..

USED to.
Way before Katrina.
And, not only black people were fricked over by Katrina, as the media and that whore Oprah says.

Why weren't they allowed to use the real mansion? I've been wondering about that...

I like the season so far, and don't mind that it isn't as dark as the others.
I'm interested to see what they do with Zombie Tate. I assume he'll go back to being "normal", so do they just hide him? What?

Here come my thoughts after Ep2, so prepare to bash.... Because people aren't allowed to be critical of the show.
I'm sticking with it, but this season is disappointing me again... I echo the other criticisms that have been said in this thread.
Hopefully it turns around.
I guess that what happens when you have high expectations and honestly, up to this point, I think Season 2 was better.

Honestly, I feel different. With Season 1, it was a gothic, dark series that took everyone by surprise. It was great TV.
Season 2, while dark as well, was also more "bizarro" style with wild plot twists, aliens, exorcisms, nuns possessed by Satan, the Angel of Death, and Bloody Face. It was a fun ride, and while some were put off by just how off the wall it got at times, it was still incredibly well acted and each person's storyline kept you interested.
Now Season 3. We are only 2 episodes into this season. Basically we are still gettting to know the cast of characters. So far, I love it, but for different reasons why I loved season 1. It is campy - in a good way - and also very well acted. Based on the season previews, it is going to take a wild and dark turn when the covens start fighting with one another.
So to sum it up, it is entertaining, well acted television, and I'm looking forward to what happens each week.

The only comment that should be "bashed." Comparing an entire season to two episodes of one season doesn't make sense to me.

I hope, but its too teenage girly at this point. Like someone said last week, its like a tv version of the craft.

I didn't mean the whole season, bc I ended up pissed off with season 2. I was saying, this far into Season 2, I think it was much more "American Horror Story". It was dark, evil, freaky.

my only complaint is the show isn't as "cool" as it used to be.
the first season was so stylistic and cool.
is just not there yet.
that being said... I would cast a spell on Emma Roberts. and by cast I mean shoot and by a spell I mean jizz
