re: 2 girls arrested in Florida cyberbullying case

Local news station reported that she got in a fight not to long ago because of this, I'm not sure how accurate that is though. It seems the girls were awful to her and how they had no remorse is sickening. I'm not sure what the proper punishment for this is though, it's a very complicated case with two very strong arguments, I'm curious as to how this pans out though.

At least some kind of sensitivity counseling and probation?

Ok, say she did. She still had to see them at school 5 days a week. And she was harassed (including physically apparently) there, continually. Next?

I knew a guy who would get in fights with anybody and never backed down, hardly ever lost. Then one day he blew his brain out because his fiancee cheated on him.

That's terrible, but also proving my point that they're different

since we are speaking hypothetically, the school could have acted as the disciplinarian and suspended/detentioned the agressors.

ya know... the same way they have been tackling jr high for decades if not centuries...

You were trying to make it seem emotional pain is no biggie and people should just learn how to deal with it. Problem is that everybody is different and emotional pain can be worse than physical pain to a lot of people

Actually, the article stated that her mom moved her to a new school.

Brain teaser: How could a 12 year old girl get to an abandon tower?

That's what I'm thinking, unfortunately I doubt it will have any affect on them. Like I said, this isn't a very cut and dry case.

Exactly.
Look all I'm saying is that pull most peoples post history on this site, or any other message board and judge them off of it, and they'll come off as a terrible hateful person. According to message boards people wish death on all kinds of people, and have no sympathy towards anything.

I'm not saying what those girls did was right, and that in no way did it negatively impact this poor dead girl. But I don't think it's fair to say they were giving her "death threats" or encouraging her to actually commit suicide by telling her on social media that she should kill herself

Throw the book at those pieces of crap and there parents. Regardless of what seems legal, they are all POS and society is better off without them!

It appear to me that everyone failed to help this little girl... especially her mother!!! Now that she killed herself, it's the blame game...

To Rebecca's mother

'Where the f--- were you?'

'Did you not even slightly notice that your daughter was depressed?'

'Did you think that maybe she needed professional help?'

Did you not noticed that she just got up and walked to an abandon building by herself?'

obviously. Also, obviously, they failed to do so.

re: 2 girls arrested in Florida cyberbullying case

I feel bad the girl took her life over obsessive cyber bullying. These girls who did the bullying are showing zero remorse. With that said, I don't believe it's their fault the girl took her life.

You can block people on FB. You can setup your profile where you can't be found by anyone but your friends. You can set it up so that people you don't know don't have the ability to contact you.

Also, her parents knew what was going on; they had her change schools over it. Why didn't they try and do something about her online profile(s) or at the very least have her pull her profile down.

It's a sad situation and a young girl shouldn't have taken her life over this. Between the bitchy girls, parents and the emotional and bullied girl, I don't see how there is a clear cut person to blame.

Because the fact that 15 other girls bullied her and told her to go kill herself makes them all criminally and legally liable for her death.

So you can now kill somebody with words?

Holy shit

Oh, good, the victim only had to change her life to accommodate the bullies. She should have cut off all social networks and isolated herself from the world.

What the frick does that have do with anything? How is that pertinent to the issues at hand?
