Its not the same as it was 30 plus years ago and I don't expect BR to spend a lot of money improving football traffic for six to seven weekends a year.

So the only six-seven weekends a year baton rouge has to showcase itself to the state and the rest of the south and the city decides screw it lets make it as miserable as possible. Great idea. Yet they also have seemingly 80-90% of the police force in the city concentrated in bikes on campus handing out MIPs instead of north Baton Rouge.

Just be happy they havent set up a checkpoint on Highland, Burbank, and Nicholson following a football game. I wouldn't put it past them though.

Haven't read all of the posts here but, you know what's funny? When all parking was free on the roads inside the gate and other buildings, we didn't have this big of a problem. This is just another way of LSU trying to pry more money out of people. I wouldn't have a problem paying $5 or even $10 to park where I used to park a few years ago. However, starting the parking spots at $40 was a little bit steep on a first come first serve basis. Yes, I'm poor. Don't always have tickets and have been tailgating since 1999.

At a minimum they need to put in a separate lane on burbank/nicholson or a designated and specialized route altogether for people with parking passes.

This x 1,000,000

10 years ago when I was going to games with my dad, there were less than 1/3 the cops they have now, campus was open to cars at all times, and we could get to campus at 12:00 for a 2:30 SEC game, find a spot in a free lot or in the Parker/Gourrier area, and be in our seats an hour before kickoff. This could never happen now due to the huge reduction in spots on campus, the elimination of free spots on campus (pushing even more people off), the addition of 3 times as many gameday traffic cops, ect has ruined traffic even worse than it already is.

exit I-10 at Highland rd, take Highland to Burbank, cruise up Burbank in no time. literally takes 20 minutes to be in the walk ons area from blue bayou

This is the exact route we took from Hoo Shoo Too at 9:45 and it took us until 11:15 to get in the Hayfield lot. The fricking traffic cluster at Burbank and College/Lee is rediculous, why have all the little traffic lights on Burbank going at this time?

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but LSU PD changed the entry points for on campus parking. I park in 202 and have for years(over 10). I usually drive north on river road, cross at aster and enter by the tennis courts. Despite that my lot is next to the Indian Mounds, Saturday the security officer advised me that I could not enter campus from that spot. He required me to go around campus and enter from highland in the east/south. This forced me into traffic where I usually would not be. I know most of the folks that park near me had to do the same. This occurred at 830 am and extended my driving time by 30 minutes. It was crazy and made very little sense. Not sure what prompted that particular change Saturday, but I am convinced it had something to do with causing an increase in traffic on the south/east side of campus.

No more free parking on campus!!!!! Get a pass. It will help the traffic problems.

Actually, more free parking on campus would be a bigger help.

people are finally noticing what i've been preaching for years. I'll say it again.

LSU Athletic Dept. is no different then a car salesman. once they have your money they don't give a frick about you, or your concerns.

LSU administration continues to beat the shite out of fan's gameday experience; genuinely surprised when gameday experience is shitty.

These stupid sons of bitches can't run a school, what the hell makes you think they can organize a football game?

I didn't relize that LSU had hired a traffic consultant this year.

Anyone who's been to Tuscaloosa has experienced worse.

Took us 4-5 hours to get from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham after the 2011 game.

Joe is NOT a "solutions guy".
He's a bureaucrat.
Hence his weak "The traffic consulting group" answer for everything.
The FIRST chance LSU fans get to throw this Haircut In A Suit under the bus, they will.
And he will be shocked.

Like LSU doesn't make enough money through their athletics. There is no need to go ahead and charge people to park.

Pisses me off

The ultimate goal in life for most people is more money.
Sad but true.

you can call BS all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that that is the way things went down. worst traffic I sat in was 2 light cycles at Burbank and Lee
