he was in this instance. I'm no traffic expert but it seems a little foolish to only give yourself two hours to get to an LSU football game- regardless of opponent. BR traffic is shitty under the best circumstances. Why would he give himself such a small time window to get to the stadium?

Yes, it's an African-American neighborhood. I drive through it during daytime hours if I'm on Highland wanting to get to the interstate quickly. The residents not sitting out on their porches with guns sniping at LSU fans. Would I want to be driving through at 3 a.m.??? No. But daytime or right after an LSU game when there are plenty of people around doesn't bother me a bit.

I grew up in NOLA. That should say it all.

colored folk scare you do they?

you're a great human being. that neighborhood does look sketchy but there are plenty of well maintained homes and hard working people living there, a-hole. Bigots like you are the reason Louisiana continues to have the reputation it does.

I think the problem has less to do with shitty cops and $40 parking, and more to do with most people being idiots

Except this is a lie. I took Burbank starting near the College/Lee area and it took more than 2 hours to go from there to the parking lot across from old alex box.
You know why, right? Because some stupid fricking cop decided to park his car in the right lane near Nicholson and intentionally bottleneck a major artery of cars going to park at that lot you're talking about, in addition to the cars that have no idea the free lot is full yet.

My inlaws park in that lot you're talking about, and me and the wife catch a ride with them. Same thing. We left his driveway in Dutchtown at 11:30, and came up Burbank from I-10. We hadn't even sniffed the corner of Burbank/Nicholson yet and it was 1:15 when he finally suggested the wife and I get out and just walk to the stadium.

I'm so tired of the police officers and LSU acting as though a half arse plan was placed on their desk at 3:30 on Friday before the game, catching them completely by surprise. That's pretty much how they treat their "traffic plan" for gameday - every week.

I think it's less the fact that they're black and more the fact that there have been repeated murders and armed robberies in that neighborhood over the last few years.

My job takes me into those kind of homes 3/4 times a week. I've learned a simple thing; people are people. It might shock people to go into a few homes and see three kids doing homework, and Mom cooking dinner. Just the normal rhythms of American life...

That said, that neighborhood has every dysfunction known to Man, front and center, X 10.

I thought most of the murders were taking place in NORTH Baton Rouge... Like up off of Plank Road/Hollywood area. But I could be wrong.

However, I'm not going to live my life scared. If I need to drive Louise Street, I'll drive it or any other street. There's a difference between paranoid and cautious.

Sounds like that's how a lot of people in this thread treat their traffic plan, too.

Old South Baton Rouge has crime problems too.
7 homicides last year alone
LINK

That's just the area from River Road to Park and from Aster to Government Street

i usually have a parking pass, so i'm covered. However, when i do not have a parking pass, I get to campus at noon for a 7PM game and 8AM for a 2:30 game. I've never had any problems.

So if you have trouble getting to the game on time, you'll need to leave the house earlier or try another mode of transportation.

In over 100 trips to Tiger Stadium, I've never once had trouble getting to the game on time. It's funny how when you internalize the situation, problems seem to magically go away.

you're a troll so I'll respond to you once and once only. I don't have trouble getting to my spot or leaving.

But it's beyond old for LSU to trot out the same lame excuse over and over after they've 'fixed' it every time.

I'm not any sort of engineer or traffic flow expert, but one thing I do know is that the infrastructure to get to and from Tiger Stadium has not kept up with the additions of the East and West upper decks....

then add the loss of mass transit options like the buses from downtown and the train from NOLA and with police departments who seem to be in permanent anal defilade, you have the makings of the mess you see
