I'm rocking a very dangerous fire team right now, but if you have a water pokemon you will frick my shite.

Delphox, Charizard, and Blaziken are all in my party. 3 different generations of fire starters and probably my 3 favorite in the series (Typhlosion from G/S may have a case).

If you guys haven't done it yet, when you boot up the game do the Mystery gift and select receive gift via internet. You will get a Torchic with a Mega stone that will allow you to use Mega Blaziken once you level it.

eta: Also, look up "O-Powers" if you don't know about them. You can cast them on yourself or cast them on friends (costs less energy) and get random perks (improved capture rate, improved attack, improved exp, etc). If you have friends online y'all can cast them on each other and get the benefits at a reduced energy cost.

Where did you guys get a X/Y game guide?

Checked Game Stop and they haven't received any to date. They are postponed.

I purchased a regular '99 base set Charizard.. but isn't 1st edition.

Those are ridiculous, if graded Near Mint by BGS or PSA it could raise the value x3-x4.

Also, glad to know that you are into this game. We all need to post our codes on here.

First non-PC game i've played in 2-3yrs.

Pokemon is extremely fun, love collecting and creating my own 6 ball death brigade.

EDIT:
I do have a problem with going all out.. hence the lame pokemon card purchases.

haven't played a Pokemon since Gold which I wasn't a fan of.

Loved me some Red and then Yellow, though.

Mine isn't 1st edition, but it has a pretty nifty story behind it. My brother and I went into Books-A-Million for our typical Saturday battling/trading event and we each got 2 packs of cards.

He opened his pack up and got a Blastoise. I opened mine up and got a Charizard. We were both pretty stoked and it was fitting as our respective games were Blue and Red.

Pokemon transcends every group. It is one of the few unique games that can appeal to every group from the casual, to the hardcore, to the collector, to the guy that has to stat max everything.

Not everyone will like it, but it has something to offer to nearly everyone.

Was talking about the Books A Million days earlier in the thread.

Stuff was awesome if your mom or friend's mom was into reading. You could spend an easy 3-4hrs there.

Yeah, I saw that. We never did GBC battles at ours, but you could do card battles and trade cards and such. If you went each weak during the summer you got a badge stamp and I think you got a special pin at the end if you earned all your badges.

The good ol' days.

You get the option to pick one of the Red/Blue starters pretty early on. No catching involved. Just given to you.

We loved it.. wasn't really nerdy kids but just kids being kids.

It was the forum of the day but you actually got to trade and discuss your interest face to face with these ppl. One of the best times during my 11-12yr old days.
