Anyone bought it or thinking about buying it? Picked my copy up this morning. First one I've played in almost 5 years and it's definitely the best in the series.

Yes, purchased a pokemon machine (3DS XL) just to play this.

Currently half way through Black 2 but will start Y then X after.

I didn't play either of the Black or Whites but I've watched some gameplay videos and they look good.

But I just got past the first gym and this game is just amazing.

Which are you playing through first?

X or Y?

I'm only going with Y first because Mega Charizard is not that dark/dragon type when evolved.

Good deal. I haven't played any Pokemon games since Gen IIII - Ruby and Sapphire. So my plan is to quickly play through or attempt to finish Black 2 before jumping on X/Y.

I'm playing through X right now. I bought the guide with it because when I got Platinum I was lost on which Pokemon where best to get.

I'll probably get Y in a few weeks when my next paycheck comes in.

I haven't played a pokemon game since blue, red, and yellow, but this thread makes me want to play one now.

Crazy how fun Pokemon is even as an adult. I remember having Red in the 7th/8th grade and finding MewTwo. One of the highlights of my gaming childhood. lol

Did anyone go to Books-A-Million during the Red/Blue/Yellow days for Pokemon battles? You could bring in your GBC and tether to others. They would hold a tourney like twice a month. It was a really cool idea but everyone just used a hacked version of Mew.

I never did but if I had lived near a Books-A-Million you can bet your arse I would have been there.

And it is crazy how much fun it is as an adult. It's just never lost its luster with me.

I almost did it. Downloaded Saturday at midnight. Wrecking shite with my Mega Charizard. shite is fun, yo.

Also my first in a while (however far back Diamond and Pearl are). Glad to take a break and this one is very fresh and fun.

I must be too old. Never played a Pokemon game. Probably never will. It just reminds me of "kids toys" wayy too much. I think I was in high school when p'mon got popular.

Yeah, seems like it missed your mark. Believe I was 11-12yrs old when released.

Pokemon are not a kids toy sir, they are dangerous and wild.

Who is everyone starting with?

Never went with a grass type as a starter pokemon, but using Cheepin now. Mainly because I will concentrate on Charizard and Blastoise later for Mega forms.
