I don't have anything of interest to add but I agree with everything in the OP. Great post, it should get sent to Alleva.

So let's talk solutions:

- Real video boards that show multiple angles of action and replay, w/out all the ads and commercials
- Gameday (reliable) WIFI
- More band interaction with fans (less piped in music)
- Stats and scores all the time
- Highlights from other big games around SEC and top 25 during timeouts/halftime etc.
- Better traffic planning and more free/open lots near center of campus

Just some ideas.

I can say for sure that the sun and heat was intense for a Oct. afternoon today, especially east side, but the other reasons for empty seats are simply it was a forgone conclusion by some of our esteemed fan base that we would cakewalk over this UF team since favored by 10 in some parleys so why even bother right? Plus was a dreaded 2:30 day game and as said before very warm. Some don't realize the Gators were #1 D in SEC and since we were favored this team would just roll over and die for us, forget this is a SEC team with 4 and 5 star recruits like us still in hunt for BCS contention. Also, as others stated the comforts of TV viewing sometimes trump going in these conditions, I enjoy this sometimes too. Just glad I got to experience the old days before TV exploitation created this scenario.

You got it. If you go to all the expense to go to a game treat us like we paid to be there. I always have to go home and watch the replay to see what really happened. Currently controversial plays won't be replayed in TS.

I was happy most fans stayed. what pissed me off to no end was the frickers that didnt stand up and cheer at half time. I had about 18 empty seats around me, but the people there didnt cheer for the 03 team. i was disgusted. take 2 seconds out of your life to at least clap for them. but no. WE HAVE THE WORST FANS IN ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. It was sickening.

The traffic and parking situation alone is slowly but surely making me re-think the season ticket renewals.

I'm just fricking tired of an absolute joke of how they handle it.

Yes I know, 100,000+ people in one area isn't going to be easy. But one would think that year in, year out they would have that shite to a science. It's nowhere near being organized. I mean not even close. Took 3 fricking hours to drive from Dutchtown to our parking lot near Alex Box!

And all because the idiot fricking cops decide to reduce a major feed of cars going to park to just one lane.

I'm in my mid 20's and have been an LSU fan my entire life. My family never had season tickets but we managed to get tickets to several games a year when I was younger and the stadium used to be rocking for every game. My freshman year at LSU was 2007 and TS was AWESOME that year.

The USCe and Bama games last year were great and both had amazing atmospheres but since the Bama game it has noticeably diminished. I was at the game today and it was depressing to see so many empty seats and the stadium be so lifeless for 90% of the game, especially the student section.

The atmosphere definitely isn't anything close to what it used to be and it's a real shame.

TV. Period. Day games at 90 degrees. Start the games at 6:30 or 7:00 and see what happens

It doesn't matter what time the games start. We've won just about every game played there the last 13 years. For most of the stadium, there's no distinction between one game and another. We expect to win and we do. No excitement for competing means apathy. That's the issue, nothing else.

This is nowhere near a new thing with the po-po, it is tried and true assholes showing that they are just that, and they are given a tin star to back it up.

The gameday experience will never be what it was 10-20 years ago. It is still pretty good now to those of us that have been there through the years. That being said, my 25 year old son just moved here from Nashville. He is a huge Tiger fan. I plan on taking him to his first Tiger Stadium trip for the A&M game. After that, I doubt I set foot on campus on a game day. You all can have that corporate bullshite.

Could not have said it any better. To that I would add the overbearing, heavy-handed "security" staff at the stadium. Ever tried to stick around in the seats to see what the press is doing or what recruits are there? I kid you not, tonight they ran us out just five minutes after the team left the field. I was infuriated and had to ask myself if this is a public university?

I think it has less to do with the things the OP mentioned, and everything to do with the new generation of Tiger Fans. This is a direct result of the Gimme Generation coming of age. Why go to a game when I can sit at home and watch it? Why stay and get stuck in traffic after for 2 hours when I can catch the 2nd half at home? These are questions I can't refute, and I can't answer for another fan. But it's not about cost or corporations, it's about comfort and it's about selfishness, and all the things that make the generation we live in great and terrible. frick you Miley Cyrus, frick you. Whoops, old man tangent there... fricking kids and their skateboards...

Another thing. Why is it one person's business what another person does with his football ticket and his time?

You're either a fan or you're not. If you are a fan, the game is the focus of interest. Not leaving early to avoid traffic or some other lame excuse.

These are all great ideas.

I was astounded when in Athens and Starkville (yes, Starkville) I could easily text and surf the Internet during the game while in the stadium. My AT&T service on campus during gameday in Baton Rouge is nearly nonexistent. Say what you want about whether I should be on my phone during the game, but I guarantee you that many people my kids' age are not going to put themselves anywhere where they can't use their phones. This could be easily fixed by the university.

It sure would be nice to have up to date scores from other games available with greater frequency during the game. I'm much more interested in that than honoring some prof with 20years in the anthropology department at the next time out. People stay home to watch because they can keep track of other games.

My easy solution to the traffic problem:
Send ALL of the gameday traffic cops home. They don't help anything, they don't direct traffic. They just close lots before they're full and sit in their cars soaking up AC and time and a half while blocking up a lane of traffic and making sure people can't go whatever way they want.

There are many other more expensive solutions that would probably be made much more affordable due to not having to pay for all of those wasted police officers like:
4 lane Nicholson with turn lanes from Burbank to at least Lee.
Left Turn lanes for Nicholson at Lee
Left Turn Signal on game days for Skip Burtman Drive and Gourrier at River Road.
3 Lane Highland Road from the McKinley to Perkins
Reduce the number of traffic lights on Highland
Extend West Parker to Nicholson
Remove the shoulder and/or widen Parker to 4 lanes.
Put an I-10 East on-ramp at Dalrymple

Just a few suggestions.
