Does it concern anyone regarding Palelei and Godchaux's injuries

I think it is commendable that LSU is honoring the commitments of both Palelei and Godchaux's and that is probably the right thing to do. But ACL injuries are not easy to come back from even in the NFL and college much less coming from high school. It sucks that it happened to those guys, and I want them to recover fully but taking up 2 spots on the list with an uncertainty that they get back to their old form without having to at least redshirt. It is a gamble no doubt about it, just don't know when the right thing to do actually is the wrong thing to do.

Not even a little. It's about the kids, not the fans.
Programs that do the right thing are rewarded in a million little ways.

Nope. They are Tigers.
Now, the only thing that I've never liked is kids with important D1 offers playing both sides of the ball in high school games.

Les will and should honor his commitment. although, it would be a very noble idea for the 2 players to consider a greyshirt. nothing wrong with being a team player. this should be solely the players decision without any prodding from LSU. depending on the details or seriousness of injuries.

Nope cause ACL surgeries and rehab programs in today's medical world is outstanding.
These guys may not even step onto campus for another 8-9 months, that's a good rehab time plus add in a few extra months if needed. At the very worst they redshirt and will be 100% heathy by the time they get on the field.

I am glad to see at least one person thinks on the same line as I do. Honor and respect has to go both ways. Like I said I do think it is the right and respectful thing to do to honor the offer that LSU made to these kids. But ACL injuries are serious injuries even in today's medical world, obviously with a lot of hard work they can be overcome but it ain't easy.
As a poster stated it is about the kids, but he forgot to mention it is also about the school and program too. And respect and honor has to go both ways. You don't want to hurt the program and taking a grey shirt until you are fully recovered allowing your entire eligibility to be intact and allowing yourself to get healthy without having to burn a redshirt on yourself just to get healthy when you still might need it, to me sound like the right thing for the individual to do. To me it just shows respect and honor on both sides of the commitment.

There is calculated risks in every game, you just have to go with the odds.
I wouldn't trade Coach Miles in a minute for some sleazy coach that only thinks of himself.
This sends a message to recruits that LSU cares about them.

No they deserve a scholarship from a fantastic institution.
You, however, deserve a kick in the arse for bringing it up.

What's the latest on Sione? Done for year? Surgery required?

If you mean am I concerned about the health of two great young players who are future Tigers, of course. If you mean LSU should consider pulling their schollies, GTFO.

Palelei has a chance to play for EA this season. Hes injury is not as bad as though. The longest he will be out is til Xmas. After that, hes fine. His MCL doesnt require surgery.
Godchaux is too good to not take. Hes already 6'4 270lbs and has DE type athleticism. He already looks the part of a college DL. He will be back in late May - early June. Which is right before summer camp. Put it this way, if Godchaux didnt get hurt, he would of gotten PT as a true freshman. IMO, hes 1 of the most underrated players in the nation.
And, especially for Godchaux, if we dont take them, some other SEC program will.
Do I want them to be healthy as future tigers and am concerned for their well being? Yes. Am I concerned as in we shouldnt take them in this class? HELL NO. Godchaux will be 1 of the top 6 players in this LSU class, regardless of his injury. And Palelei did everything right and earned his scholarship and is also extremely underrated. He will make an impact here at LSU, and not just on ST. Hes as good a home run threat at the RB spot as anybody.

There is a big difference between honoring a commitment and and honoring an offer.
LSU should aways do what's best for LSU if the kid has not yet committed.
