I have a rub I use that is great, but pretty simple. ( Dry Mustard, Cinnamon, and Tony's....trust me) but am interested in trying some thing different today.

Anyone have a kick-butt brisket receipe?

For a whole, packer trimmed brisket, I bring it to room temp, and rub all sides with a mix of 2 cups of brown sugar, 3 to 4 T of Tony's, 1 T of dry mustard, and 1 t of garlic powder. Makes an awesome bark.

I smoke @ 8 to 10 hours and then t/f to the oven to bake uncovered at 225 for another 8 or so hours...the Otis Method...awesome.

Going to have to try it next time. Last one I smoked i crutched at the stall and ruined the bark. Tasted great but had to turn it into shredded beef because it was too moist and fell right apart. I rather an inbetween with good bark

I use chili powder, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, salt, and sometimes with a little dijon mustard.
