Refs help Ohio State to victory. This seems like a trend where the 4 Power conferences has THE team that will get all of the calls that sway a game. It's Texas in the Big 12, Ohio State in the Big 10, Alabama in the SEC and Oregon in the Pac. I;m sure each conference wants their team in the BIG game but........

I agree

and as long as we sheep accepts the crappy product and illegitimate champions college football produces......it will continue.

A selection committee ....really?

Can't really disagree

These "major" teams always seem to get some assistance from their own conference refs

After an entire offseason of "Oh they were undefeated but sat out the bowl season They'll get their chance this year!" that they would let them lose to Northwestern if it could be helped at all?

Let's ignore the fact that the snap was fumbled, if it wasn't the probably make the 1st down. At the time they were down by 4 and there was still 3:00 left in the game. But yea, I mean if that play doesn't happen NW absolutely wins it

Doesn't change the fact that the refs completely blew that 4th down call. Horrible.

This statement is idiotic, and you should consequently be admonished for making it.

No, let's not. The ref assumed that the QB's knee was down when he picked the ball up. That's the ONLY way that the ball was spotted where it was, despite video evidence showing him 1-2 yards PAST the marker.

If that's the case the ref would've blown the play dead immediately.

It looked to me like he got to the line and then was pushed back. I have no idea if he got past it or not. It was a judgement call by the ref. There was no undisputable video evidence to overturn the call.

The rear angle shows the Northwestern QB down 2 yards in front of the LOS, right on the corresponding hash.

The ref looked like a drunk doing a line test, starts to his right looks across to the sideline moves left, not going straight at any point haha

The dude had that first and you know it. Even if you couldn't see it from the side, the angle from behind the center showed him moving past where that line was.

But take the cheap win over NW. Nobody really gives a shite.

I remember in 2007, the Big East referees went out of their way to try and help West Virginia win the Pitt game to keep their BCS hopes alive, but Pitt won anyway, opening the door for LSU to win the Crystal Football.

Yeah tOSU is far from in the clear. You can call shite gold but it's still Northwestern they barely beat today. They'll shite the bed at some point this season.

You can blame Northwestern for this loss, not the refs. They had total control of the game and throw a pick deep inside their own territory then later on fumble the snap on 4th and 1. What I can't understand is why there aren't cameras on both sides of the field to make sure they can get replay shots from all angles.
