I spend some of my slow time at work hitting the lowbies for 10-20k mana per fight. I use only my heroes so I am not losing any mana in the deal. It takes a while, but it does the trick. In another day I should have all of my heroes inscribed to at least level 51.

With the right spells and proper hero placement you shouldn't need to use any troops.

That is the right idea Bard. I can tell you that you could probably search the actual raid button and find just about the same amount of mana to loot with much less effort.

I know on iOS last night, we were discussing running Mesa 3. Is everyone looking more for shards as opposed to essence? Just curious as to the reasoning why.

Get a lot of quest completion cards on Mesa 3 looks like Mesa 2 is a much better payout.
Anybody got any ideas on how to get more blue and purple chests from Mesas?
The group that we usually run mesas with is this.
15k Might account 110 PD I haven't tracked hard numbers but usually 1/8 purple, 3 or 4/8 blue
20k might with 133 PD purple rare 3 or 4/8 blue
27k might no PD 1 or 2/8 blue
30k might with 156 PD no purples rarely gets blue
Sucks that the highest might gets the worst rewards. Anybody else seen this too?

I guess I missed that conversation. Personally I need slimes/slime essence, I have every hero that you can get with shards now except ninja and I'm not too concerned about missing that one. I just need to level up their specials.
I feel if we do Mesa3, it'll be the three members with PDs and one more for every battle, which kinda sucks for the rest of us. I'd rather do mesa1 with three groups or run mesa2. We'd get a lot more mesa battles I believe.

Im in the same boat. I only need shards to buy slimes, which is a losing prop when i can run Mesa 2 and get essence.
Again, maybe someone just tossed it out there, but reward wise, Mesa 2 seems much better for risk/reward and what I need.
We do need to bump to boss 3 soon, need me some Honor Badges.

We did boss3 once I know. I think we had 7 or 8 online, everybody got at least 5-6k HB, maybe even 7k. I think whoever dealt the most damage ended up with 14k.

Yeah boss 3 payouts are double boss 2, so top payout is 14,300 HB. And total health is 120m, so whoever does the most damage needs to stop after doing 36m and let others catch up and get more HB.

Just ran Mesa1 with a Santa in the group. The range he has on those fireworks is insane!

I think last night's experiment was fun, we can do Mesa 3 but mesa 2 is more worth while.
I got 140 shards, which is more than mongo's 30 but not worth the effort and exclusion of other memembers.

Plus if we divide the 4 Pumpkin Dukes into 4 groups, more can get in on the action. Who all has PDs?

I tried pugging Mesa1 last night and... wtf!?! I must have sat there for a good 5-10 minutes while the group reset over and over before I got a group that actually got into the zone. 
On another note, I finally got around to putting LINE on my PC, so I can be found waiting for something to do on most days (unless I don't have a shield up).
