Fleming's Steakhouse Wine App on iPads

For those of you who don't go to Fleming's Steakhouse, they bring an iPad to your table with an app that guides you though their wine selection with prices, descriptions, and sorting.
At first I was aghast at this, but I have come to enjoy it. Now I am no wine expert or enthusiast, but I generally have a sense for what I am in the mood to drink. So you just kind of tell the app what you are in the mood to drink and it gives you some recommendations.
Thr last couple of trips have worked out well, and I have found the wine recommedations to be exactly what I was looking for. The app itself is fairly "elegant" and the iPad itself is encased in some sort of menu box material, which works with the decor.
Any opinions on this or how mainstream it will become?

Revolution in Nola has this as well. I like the idea, because I'm not well-versed in wines to where I can read a menu and recognize the wines they offer .. at least not at most more upscale restaurants. And if there's not a sommelier by which to obtain recommendations, you're kinda guessing blind. iPad makes sense to remedy this .. better than me quickly doing an online search on my iPhone for a wines I see on a menu to see what's what, which I've done a few times.

I wish they would put the price which you could purchase the bottle at the liquor store on the app.....I don't mind paying for a nice bottle...just hate paying $35 for a bottle that I can get a Kroger for $9

It bothered me at first because at a steakhouse I expect top-notch personal service that I can't get at Chili's. It was akin to leaving a big caraffe of water on the table because they don't want to be bothered to give you refills.

Public House in Las Vegas has this for their beers and I liked it. The bartenders are also really knowledgeable and can help you out if you need it.

What would be the point of that?

I didn't realize it made recommendations. That'd actually be kind of nifty for all menus to be interactive like that. "I'm in the mood for seafood and I'm alergic to peanuts" and then it shows pictures and descriptions of the appropriate dishes instead of you have to scan the menu for them. It also would eliminate the problem of dark restaurants and not being able to read the menu.

They do. I loved it there. Cut down the hall from there also has their wine list on an Ipad. I really like the idea.

18 steak @ L'Auberge has the entire drink menu and wine list on Ipads.
However I do not recommend that anyone eat there.
