I think he can be a decent role player off the bench if he makes the team

They've also added Rodney Carney.

quote:

Williams on new camp invitee Rodney Carney, a five-year NBA veteran small forward: “Rodney’s been in the league. He’s athletic and has the ability to shoot the ball. Certainly with his athleticism, he should be able to defend. But we certainly needed another wing.”

I wanted him bad, but we picked Hilton Armstrong and Cedric Simmons instead.

What are the predictions from PT as to who will make the team from the training camp invites?

Arinze, Lazar, and Rodney...can only take one if someone else isnt cut.

No he's not. He can play 3 positions, is reportedly great in the locker room, is popular in the community, and is a Monty style hustle player. You are not going to find a better 14-15th man than Lance Thomas. If some trade for a legit SF required letting Thomas go then sure you make that move, but he's not getting replaced by someone that just gets a camp invite.

He's playing over seas. Played against Darnell last summer. He's definetly more skilled than when at LSU.

Who expects Lazar to make this team?

Not this guy, but I had to double take when I saw Lazar. Not a very common name.

If Rodney Stuckey is a small forward, i'm a fricking leprechaun. He's a true combo guard played that pos for 5 years. Don't see his fit on the team

Lazar has to be the most badass name ever. That alone is enough to make opposing players shite their pants when thinking of playing the Pels.

Rodney Carney I can get behind. Let's hope Williams can get something out of him.

Rodney Carney is out.

The Pelicans announced on Monday morning that they have waived Carney, who was signed last Tuesday at the start of training camp.

That was quick. I don't think he even played.

One of Monty's quotes on him was

quote:

Certainly with his athleticism, he should be able to defend.

Maybe the defensive chops he was hoping for weren't there.
