I don't get it, when there is a problem why is it wrong to criticize? We obviously have problems on defense, why is it not ok to point out those problems? I always give props when props are due, but I am not a person to think all is fine, when it is clear to see by even a blind man it is not.

Our defense has more holes in it than swiss cheese, and if we don't figure out a way to fix the issues we have "mostly in the front 7" the UGA game is not the only game we are going to lose this year. So admitting we have issues are not the problem, it is people who actually feel that after watching the last 5 games that we don't need to change that I see as having the problems.

It is not the difference of the glass being half empty or half full, there is also the situation that the glass is empty and needs to be filled.

It's not. Anyone trying to supress criticism at this juncture is delusional. They are probably the same people insisting that the defense would be just fine after lackluster performances in the first four games. The signs were always there.

Hopefully, the defense can improve from here on out.

If you have some constructive criticism to offer then by all means go ahead. We might be able to learn something. But if you just want to complain about things without offering any potential solution, ain't nobody got time for that. That's not criticism; that's just bitching.

Just for fun. Can you give me two examples that demonstrate the difference between a 'criticism' and a 'critique'? TIA

There isn't anything wrong with it until you get a bunch of dumb asses repeating the same thing over and over again and then giving their advice acting like they know what the frick they are talking about.

There's nothing wrong with it, and most LSU fans who are objective can simply point out the issues while not jumping off the ledge and saying Chavis, Miles, etc should be fired.

Unfortunately you have morons on both sides of the fence. There are those who are the eternal optimist who continue to make excuses and refuse to believe that there are some major problems defensively with this team. They feel that they are "better fans" than those who criticize and that their positivity will magically solve all the problems, and that the negative fans are the reason for the blown coverages, missed tackles, etc.

Likewise, there are those who don't just criticize, but completely go off the deep end following a loss. FIRE MILES!!!!!, FIRE CHAVIS!!!! The progam is in complete decline!! We'll never compete for the SEC again. They feel if that yell loud enough, then Alleva will magically lure Bill Belicheck to Baton Rouge to coach LSU.

As always, reality lies in the middle

there's a difference between criticism and straight up bashing. going by your post history...you don't know the difference

do you not think we know we have issues on defense? we know. there's no reason to post in every thread (and now start one) about how shitty you think our defense is. we know

As I understand it, the American conservative movement does not tolerate any ideas other than their own. Which of course is problematic since their "ideas" are poorly formed propaganda rather than actual well thought out ideas.

There isn't anything wrong, but its childish.

Do you think you critiquing something will change it? You think a coach will read this board and say "Ermergerd, arm chair QB #45 just had a game changing tip that will help out our team! Why the hell didn't we hire him"

Marketplace of ideas, bray.

Posters are free to criticize and critique. This is one of the most leniently moderated internet message boards around. No one is going to stop you unless you go waayyy overboard and violate one of the few specific rules.

On the other hand, of course, others are free to do the same and to disagree with you.

That's what makes things fun around here.

Then what's the fricking point of this board?

It's not wrong to criticize. It's just that a lot of it is so over the top, that some of us overreact to any criticism.

Wow you obviously don't read every thread, there are plenty of people prior to this weekend that didn't think we had problems on defense. Matter of fact a lot were saying, we weren't really tested wait until UGA and they are going to clamp down. There were so many excuses as to why our defense was not playing up to par the first 4 games it would take too long to type them.

Once again read all my posts, before stating something that is untrue. In a thread today I stood up for our running game and I am ecstatic about our offense. But the biggest topic of conversation on this board has been our DEFENSE, can you not read? Unfortunately there isn't anything I can think of that is positive regarding our defense. When our defense improves than my comments regarding our defense will improve also.
