He's a white guy. So he's either cerebral or he has a motor. We going with cerebral.

Who's the db coach?
Corey Raymond, showed up last year. Every DB we had regressed in 2012 and this years secondary is even worse.
Dude better be on the hot seat.

Players must be dumb. Oh snap.

And it would seem Barrow would be the LB leader anyway. Barrow been on the team since 2006 it seems.

Raymond needs to be gone in a hurry.

said this in another thread...Welter is the QB of a defense that always finds itself confused as frick.
what the hell is going on out there?

The weak link back there is Loston who makes very bad judgments in coverage. Cannot get play right, terrible hands and not that fast makes you wonder what he is doing back there?
Maybe he is the best we have...
Just in case you did not know...I live in Tennessee....Chavis defense did the same thing up here two years before they all got fired

Just get posterboard signs like other teams and put the 11 best guys out there.
Who cares about having a defensive Qb?

Yea, and that had nothing to do with the lack of talent right?

Go get Ron Cooper from S. Florida...
I don't care if he never recruits anyone, the man can clearly coach his arse off.
Ron we miss you bro

I think more than anything, this idea picked up a head of steam here on the Rant and now people just parrot the idea.
Maybe Miles, Chavis or one of the coaches said something to this end at a press conference at some point and maybe they didn't. I don't recall reading that they did. And maybe it has to do with the general perception of what the middle linebacker does. Either way, in the course of some people bashing Welter and others defending him, the idea that Welter knows the plays has become the leading theory on his continued playing time. I wouldn't be surprised if none of the coaches said anything to this end, and the idea is purely driven by both his haters and defenders. But even that is a guess.

Calling and understanding "plays" on defense, is only one part. When an opponent lines up in a certain way, even though you call a certain "play" the DBs must instantly adjust if the routes and offensive set change. In my opinion that is where the problems have come, not from mis-understanding the "play" that was called. It looked to me that two to the Ga touchdowns (same formation and play, same mistake) was a misunderstanding about ADJUSTED coverage based on action. Good thing is that this is fixable and the fix is fairly simple.
