in college football. Still one of my favorites games I've ever attended. Not only was it the loudest since 2007 Florida, but the game was at 2:30. A time when all LSU fans hate because less drinking and hating day games. Yet it was one of the loudest and most fun times I've ever had. I remember thinking that every year we always lose an early game which lessens our chance for a NC. If only we can beat Georgia the rest of the way looks real good. Once Skylar Green caught that ball we didn't know it yet but put LSU in place where it is today.

That is when LSU fans knew how to party. The things I saw that friday and Saturday you will never see again do to more police and just more respect for the opposing fans.

Yeah I was there. It was like my 3rd game ever when I was a kid. Maybe since I was younger but I would put 97 like 2nd or 3rd in terms of loudness. That's not a bad thing

This game and Auburn 07 were my favorite I've seen in person. This one was probably the turning point for our tigers to become elite.

The fondest memory I have of going to LSU. Went with my dad.

Crazy to think how excited everyone was that we cracked the Top 10 after that game.

Now everyone gets pissed if we are outside of the Top 5 for a few weeks...

Best game ever.

Seriously.

I was sitting right up against the fence at the bottom of the student section when Skylar caught the ball and ran right into (or almost into?) the fence.

I was annihilated drunk.

I'd rather the position we are in now than in 2002

I was very low in the student section and it was a day to remember.

Oh no doubt.

Just funny remembering how big of a deal it was when the polls came out the next week and we had cracked the Top 10. We finished 2001 ranked 7 I think, but the week after UGA was the first time we actually played a game as a Top 10 team in a long time.

LSU footbsll became relevant again nationally in 2001. But yeah this game kind of showed we weren't going away.

It's all about the scoreboard, but they were all over us in the first half. They consistently had to settle for field goals though (credit our RZ D). Normally sure-footed Billy Bennett missed a bunch - 3 or 4 from my memory.
