STARKVILLE - The classic picture can already be envisioned.

It starts with Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen staring at the video of LSU's defense in the film room of the Seal Family Football Complex...with the alka selzer and Pepto Bismol by his side. The Bulldogs fifth-year coach, who is 0-4 in his head coaching career vs. LSU, has been watching the Tigers defensive unit coached by John Chavis and doesn't see any difference now from the previous units in past years that have been Top 3 in the Southeastern Conference in the last four years.

"They look as big, fast and physical as they always are," Mullen said on the SEC teleconference Wednesday morning. "I'm trying to figure out who they lost because it looks like they've got a lot of talented guys still out there on the field."

Well, he has an extra week to prepare.

You don't get crowned the sixth best coach in the SEC by Athlon for nothing. Wait, what's that? Oh, you do actually get crowned that for nothing.

I agree. He's probably excited that the defense we have is obviously more porous and he has a chance to rack up some offense against it. It is classic coaches pre game speak. Talk up your opponent so in either case you look not so bad losing and extra good winning.

MSU will be a very tough game.

I look for trick plays from them as Mullen needs the win to keep his paycheck going.

IF LSU gets by Jawja they will be spent, physically and emotionally.
The only way the MSU game wont be tough , IMO, is if Jawja blows LSU out.....I dont see it happening. I think we get the shoot out were all expecting and that favors MSU.

If LSU shows up to play at all they will beat MSU handily.
