I learned today that Annie D's in Brandon, MS closed down in August. I was taking 7 friends of mine there on Friday while en route to Athens for the game this weekend. They had IMHO the best fried chicken I've ever had. Please bow your heads in silence for a moment at some point today.

TIA

Well going to Annie D's was putting us 31 miles out of the way to Athens. I'm not sure I can convince the guys to go to Vicksburg!

Really liked that place. Good fried chicken and gumbo and desserts. Chicken is not as good as Gus's or Uncle Lou's or Prince's or Lorman Country Store, but still good.

At first I thought I've never had it. But after looking at a map I think I had some from a guy that picked some up when I was doing some work in forest. He lived near jackson and said try this fried chicken, its the best. It wasdamn tasty and annie d rings a bell. He said its better before an hour in my truck but these guys won't speak tome if I show up without it.

I was terrified to click this thread, thought something bad had happened to Popeye's.

The round table and chicken should be on everyone's bucket list.
