Going to make the effort to try to wear one starting this year. Of course, wife thinks its a great idea as well and says money is no object. You guys have experience with them?? Which brand should I get, what to look for/stay away from, etc..

Gracias amigos

I use a Hunters Safety Harness. I paid about 135 about 5 years ago, prolly more now, but worth it.

Hunter Safety System. after a hunt or two, you won't even know you've got it on.

I put mine on today, sat down and started typing reports, I forgot about it and sat there for an hour

I've got two. The one that's more like a vest (a camo mesh vest), and the one thats just straps. I like the straps better.

Buy a good one, don't skimp. Practice putting it on and taking it off in the dark and in a 1'x1' confined space. Wear it every time you get in a tree.

How would a grown man get in a 1 ft by 1 ft space? I'd have to do it one body part at a time and even then on one part I'd have to get 1 ft slices...

I've been thinking hard about getting a yoyo and harness like the ones I used to wear doing refrac work.

I'm not familiar with the ones made for hunting. Are they better than the typical plant work harness?

Most or all stands come with them now, so ought to find some of those cheap as folks who buy multiple stands have extras, just saying.

No way they're better. The ones that MSA make for fall protection are the best.

Maybe 1x1 was a little small. Just make sure you can do it on a little arse lock on platform.

That's what I was thinking. The ones we had were NICE.

No clue what they costs though. Got any idea?

Being the cock strong fricker that I am, I figure I can pull myself up by the lanyard pretty easily
