First off, I'm 1,000% behind the second amendment and our right to bear arms. I figured there was no need to ask the peter puffers on the Poli board this question.

All of this beauracratic bullshite lately got me to thinking....

Is there anything the politicians could propose tomorrow to make you waiver a tad bit for gun control in some capacity? I would almost be for fully registering all new purchases starting 1-1-14, provided an immediate and complete elimination of Obamacare. Keep in mind that there's no one here that wants a smaller government than myself.

Would you be ok with a universal 48 hour hold on all new purchases if it meant every politician in DC lost their job by Monday?

No. People equally bad will just replace them.

Tempting but no. Gotta draw the line somewhere, and they've already taken enough of my gun rights.

Yes. I don't think I have a problem registering a gun (as long as that registry was not to be used in any way to ever make you surrender said gun). I don't restrictions on how many I can have or what kind (to an extent) I can have.

Then again, maybe not. I see what the dumbfricks of this country will vote into office, so we may be worse off.

I think we will see a day in our generation that we will have to register all guns and ultimately pay an annual tax to keep them. This is the part that the government is missing, if you really think about it. Estimates say there are approximately 400M firearms in this country (not including all of the ones we have lost in boat accidents and hurricanes). The revenue per gun per person per year is a big number if they had a way to monitor this. This way they wouldn't care how many you purchased. If you own 20 guns and the tax is $10 year/ per gun, your $200 a year multiplied several million times over is a lot of revenue.

They can't possibly eliminate guns tomorrow. I think we all know that.

Register every new gun to skip out on obamacare. I'm all over that.

In a perfect world where they wouldn't use that list against me.

A gun tax is unconstitutional. That's like charging people to vote.

Between the op and your second post in this thread I'm starting to have some serious questions about you.

I'm all for bringing back literacy tests. And disallowing anyone receiving government assistance from voting. I'm just a big ol racist though, I guess.

The only way I budge on gun control policy is if in return they give back some gun rights.

For example, I would be fine with expanded background checks if we could legally purchase a fully automatic weapon, provided we pass said background checks.

That already exist through NFA, let them open the machine gun registry that has been closed since 1986...

Don't worry about me. I'm just numb to what's going on around us in our short time here on earth. shite was much simpler when young bucks could borrow a few goats and put them on their high school's roof for shits and giggles. I shutter to think how it will be 10, much less 20 years from now. I never thought in my wildest imagination that this country would re-elect this current administration and the law makers all trade parts of other bills to pacify the current issue while kicking the can down the road.

Us god fearing, law abiding, tax paying, outdoor loving, gun nuts are the minority in this country today and it's only getting worse. I just don't think the "cold dead hands" approach will work in the future. There will come a time that the NRA caves. Everyone has a price.

I'm not sure we are the minority.....just like the old saying the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The progressive/liberal movement gets their message out more effectively due to media/Hollywood bias.

"Gun control" means use two hands.

As to 48 hour holds, I'd be fine. I always have to wait anyway cause I never get cleared immediately for some reason. I have enough guns that I'm never in a hurry for another.

I'm having a helluva time finding an SR22 with the threaded barrel. My clearance at Laf Shooters is good til the 24th. Hopefully they'll get one before. I hate to make a trip to do another background and have to go back after to buy it.
