Will never understand how a team that didn't win its conference and loss to the champion of that conference at home gets an extra shot at that team. LSU deserved a shot to play someone else, instead had to play an extra game while Alabama could just sit back and scout them

I agree with this and thought it was bs that we had to play them again.
I'm just saying that the way the game played out proved that Bama was better, and I think most people would say its a good thing that the best team won the title.
If we had played them close, I think there would have been a lot of noise about a split NC.

I wonder why they went away from the "2 best teams" philosophy last year?

Hmmm tough to figure that out...Notre Dame, deserved a spot for their perfect reg season record.

Re: 2011. I've always wondered... if LSU had lost the regular season game to Alabama 9-6 in overtime, had a great seson that ended with LSU clearly and obviously ranked #2, would LSU fans be saying... "...nope, we didn't deserve to play in the NC, [Oklahoma] State deserved it...?"

Of course not. But we would've been wrong, just like you guys were.

I totally understand why Bama fans pushed so hard to get into the MNC game -- anybody would in that position. Nobody expects fans to be neutral and objective; they're fans. What I don't understand is why anybody listened to them.

If you had played them later A&M had a much better chance of winning.
When they play wouldn't have mattered. Alabama didn't have a Montgomery & Mingo to contain Johnny Football, which is why A&M beat them last year and gave them fits this year as well.

And for the record, LSU this year does not have them guys as well, and I anticipate him giving them troubles as well.

right, so we heard so much about "the 2 best teams" in 2011 but last year went back to the "deserved" formula...

No. That didn't prove shite. The saints lost to a weaker 49s team in the 2011 season playoffs but guess what? It doesn't matter because they didn't win. They didnt deserve to mulligan into the super bowl by popular vote and neither did bama deserve to be in the title game that year. Nobody 'deserves' a mulligan just because they're objectively a stronger team. You have to win the damned games to deserve a spot in the championship. Which is why the 2011 bcs champ game is a joke.

Another good example is last year's bama-lsu game. LSU left at least 6 pts on the field on bad decisions by the coaches. We whipped bama on numbers all game long. Guess what? It doesn't matter. Bama won that game and they deserved a spot in the title game when they beat Georgia in the sec championship. LSU neither deserved nor got a mulligan by playing bama again. And that's exactly how it should have been.

How do you know Alabama was the best team that year, Alabama only proved it was the best team for one day.

The question is what did Alabama do to earn a second opportunity at LSU for a national title, did they have a harder schedule than LSU to warrant it, the answer is hell no?

LSU played a very tough OCC schedule, Alabama didn't in 2011.

LSU went undefeated playing a tough SEC schedule, Alabama couldn't even win them all playing one of the weakest schedules in 2011.

LSU earned its title shot the hard way, Alabama was simply given something it never earned or deserved.

This Tiger fan has a huge want this year, that LSU not only goes undefeated but also beats the shite out of Alabama by a score of like 45 to 10. Then ask Bama if it wants some fricken more.

Take a deep breath, people. We haven't played anybody yet. UGa, FL, Bama, A&M, and Ole Miss await.
