Does Anyone Else Hate Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers?

Hootie is somehow better than M&S and the Lumineers.

I have a large disdain for M&S

posting pictures of them with grammys is meaningless. so they got a nod for selling albums and being everywhere in the industry. doesn't mean they make good music.

folk is meaningful music based on emotion and concrete detail. just because you wear sepia-printed clothes and bang a mandolin doesn't mean you're a folk artist. do your homework and listen to anything else.

hey, at least i don't need to take a bunch of drugs to make the music i listen to sound remotely bearable.

I will never understand the hate for M&S. Better than pretty much anything else played on the radio.

The Mumforneers & Lumisons are terrible.

but mumford is presented as musicians, not terrible top 40 entertainers. it sets them against different competition where they dont stack up nearly as well. do they write a catchy tune thats accessible to the masses - sure. are they writing great music, not really.
