So last night after entering the ticket gate with my father in law and 2 kids, some rent-a-cop noticed my pocket knife clipped to my shorts pocket. She said I couldn't have it. I told her that I didn't know, that it was just a small blade, and that I've had it at every home game in the past 8 years as I enter the same gate for my season tickets. She said it was a SEC rule. I told her I didn't want to lose the knife for sentimental reasons was there anywhere I could put it and get it after the game. At this point I told her I would just leave. She said there is no re-entry. During this conversation, a second female rent-a-cop came over and simply said I know where you can put it, took it from my hand, and deposited it in the big mailbox container of confiscated items. This ruined my idea of leaving the gate, buying a $5-10 ticket, and re-entering. After the game, I spoke to the same two cops. All I got was, good luck, sorry, go buy another knife, it's gone forever in a bitchy attitude. So I called LSUPD this am and was told they have nothing to do with it, and the athletic department "destroys" all those items...
So just wondering if anyone has had anything taken and successfully gotten it back?

I realize by rule I am wrong. But have never been "wanded" at LSU like entering the dome. Even small blades are allowed on airlines now. And even arrested criminals have the opportunity to eventually buy back a confiscated weapon or personal items. So a pocket knife entering a football game is just gone forever? Wow

You have no need to bring a pocket knife into a game. If it meant that much to you then you should of left it in the car. Sounds like you lost the knife out of your own stupidly. Just saying

Why did you need to bring a blade into Tiger stadium anyway? For decoration?

You are just a victim of today's paranoia society- they act as if you might have taken out 10 people with your pocket knife. That being said, if they made an exception for you then where do you draw the line?

A quick look at tsa.gov proves this to be false. Scissors less than 4 inches, yes. No exceptions for knives. Maybe a silly distinction, but none the less, no knives on air planes.

Sucks that you lost it, but no knives in sporting events isn't exactly a new concept.

well you never know when someone is going to step on your foot in the concession stand line or the guy seated in front of you is standing to much and obstructing your view.

i don't want to live in a country where a dude can't clip a pocket knife to his shorts and go into a football game. Isn't this 'Merica?
