@SportsCenter: THIS JUST IN: Victor Manuel Vucetich to be named 3rd manager of Mexican national team of past week, according to ESPN & media reports.

Don't know much about him but beat of luck to him dealing with this dumpster fire of a team.

You would think they would have better options than a guy who was fired two weeks back for only getting 6 out of a possible 21 points with Monterrey

I doubt anybody wanted this job at this point. Too much pressure. They will hire somebody knew immediately after the World Cup.

They wanted this guy back in 2010 but he turned the job down. I don't know why they didn't just fire Chepo after the Gold Cup.

Word is that his contract doesn't even go through to the World Cup. Meaning, if they don't qualify after these 2 games plus the probable home and away with New Zealand, he will likely be gone.

That's dumb, they need to focus on the long term.

hell no. they need to get in the WC. they'll have a year to try to fix shite with another coach

"long term", not qualifying for the WC could be a huge black eye for mexico, and may sway some meximericans to the US. if we start winning that mini-war handily, Mexico will fricking revolt

Surprisingly, the US hasn't lost many Mexican-Americans yet.

There's no one I can think of right off the top of my head, except Castillo, but the fricker switched after 5 friendlies with Mexico.

Wish they would have cap tied him
