I didn't reference LSU or Alabama in regard to Cam. I'm happy when any of our locals hit it big. I personally think Hootie is the best prospect in our region.

Dillon Day did have a great senior season, just had a nasty disposition. If Cam finds that, like Whit did, he'll be incredible.

The 247 scout guys (non LSU) that went to see CRob in practice even admitted that he didn't dominate like they thought he would and one actually said that he doesn't look to have the footwork for LT and would probably translate better as a G. Take it FWIW.

Lets not forget Chris Davenport. Recruiting services had him as a can't miss prospect and he has since moved on to another school. Its hard to project how good a kid will be.

I saw Cam play last year at W. Monroe and he's the most dominant LT prospect I've ever seen.

Maybe he slacked off some over the summer but last year when I saw him the only word to describe his performance is dominating.

At the present time - I think this also. Although, I think that he will end up at right tackle if Bama can turn him into a mauler.

Hootie is the best player in N.La IMO. If LSU could only have he or Cam, I'd take Hootie every time. He will be a play maker and will be all over the field on defense!

Through the first 2 games this year, Cam has relied on his size only. He looks about 100 lbs bigger than every defensive lineman that he goes against.

The summer camp circuit where he's going 1 on 1 without pads, gets back in line, and waits for his next turn - he dominates. In real games - it hasn't happened other than the occasional play here and there. With his size and ranking, he should be blowing up 2 guys at a time!

Motivation can't be the problem, because in games - he hasn't dominated. He's been just the biggest guy on the field. I don't see LF looking unmotivated and taking plays off in his first games this year.

The most dominant LT prospect you have ever seen? How many blue chip LTs have you watched?

He has everything you look for in a prospect, but when I watch him play, I just don't see dominance. Is he a good prospect, of course. But if you just went to a WM game and didn't know about all the hype surrounding the kid, the only thing that would really stand out is his size. He is just so much bigger than everybody else and you would expect him to simply maul and manhandle people. He doesn't do that with any degree of consistency.

There's quite a few people who think he's overrated and it has nothing to do with him going to Bama. I wish the kid well but IMHO he shouldn't be anywhere near the #1 recruit in the nation.

I watched Russell Shepard his first game his senior year and came back here and reported how bad he looked and got crucified for saying he didn't have the arm to play QB in college. He ended up having an ok senior year.

Completely agree with this statement. You see a flash here and there of what could be. Just no consistency. If he weren't so big, I'd say that he sometimes disappeared during the first 2 games this year.

It happens! These 5 star guys are held to such a higher standard, that their careers can be seen as busts, when in reality they were just above average players to begin with. Very few guys are truly elite.

many said the same of La'el......I was one.

Young lineman are held to the same flashy standards as skill positions sometimes and its not fair. They mature at a slower pace. Point in case: La'el.

Not all of them will show Jeff Byers HS highlight reels; however, Jeff was not 6'6" 300+.
