More and more lately, I find that I can't even finish video games, much less play through more than once.

Example: Bioshock Infinite, Darksiders 2, Assassin's Creed III, Dark Souls, Far Cry 3, and dozens others I can't remember right now. I just stopped playing. And stopped really close to the end too. I just lose interest. I know pretty much all I have left is the boss but I have no desire to keep playing.

Am I losing my interest in video games? or have I just seen too many endings to care? When I get a new one from the store, I'm REALLY excited to play but lately more often than not, I lose interest before I beat it. I can't tell you the last time I actually replayed a game.

I have always been a huge gamer (have both Next gen consoles ordered), been through Neverwinter Nights, WOW, all Diablos, Minecraft, etc. and hundreds of Console games since the original Nintendo. I love RPG and shooters. Played all the Final Fantasy games, Metal Gears, etc.

I'm not sure what's up, thoughts?

I haven't turned on my ps3 in like 4 months, I'm anxiously awaiting GTAV though.

Heard of the game, it's a huge time consumer correct? Persistent world like WOW? I can't play those games anymore...just don't have the time Kids, work, etc.

It happens to the best of us buddy. Sometimes there's just not enough time. Majority of the games I've played and finished were done in 1-3 sittings. If I go past that its hit and miss because I'm more likely to get caught in some multiplayer matches with the boys thus putting single player ventures on the back burner.

Dead space
Far cry 3
Deus Ex
Bioshock 2
^just some examples

I'm in the same boat. I just have to start playing open world stuff I can dick around in for a few missions then turn it off or sports games for an hour at a time.

Having a family really does put a damper on the gaming.

YEP.. If I can't pick up where I left off on a game or just play for 30 mins and actually accomplish something, I ain't playing anymore.

I definitely do not play as much as I used to, even when I have the opportunity to.

I will start playing a game for the night and in less than a few minutes I realize I don't want to play it anymore.

Recently it happened with Dead Space 3 and Dead Rising 2....both games that are either not very good, or just very repetitive.

2 years ago I would have kept playing, just to get the trophies...

I think EVE gets a bad rap.

If you do the tutorial arc and are smart with your money you can get a few ships and get in a player controlled corporation.

From there you make your own adventure.

The people making their lives about EVE are the ones that get on the news.

Shooters have been in a rut for a while now. Titanfall and Destiny are both looking to mix up the genre a little bit, so maybe next-gen can do something to bring me back to FPS games.

I get put off by QTE's and hand-holding elements (pop-up instructions, highlighted objectives, map markers, regen health, invincible NPCs, etc). Overly linear gameplay and stories can also put me off. Unfortunately, those things are what the market wants... the days of Morrowind and Rogue Spear are long gone.

You may just need to take a break for a while. I've just recently started consistently playing video games again after taking a couple of years off from them.

I either didn't have time to play or what I was playing just felt unoriginal. Games are largely iterative, with small improvements and innovations being made each release. If you take a year or so off the latest games might feel like more of a leap.

Also, you might try playing some genres you haven't explored before. Or check out the indie scene for something niche that catches your attention.

I'm with you. The only non sports game I have completed was gta4. I have started and not completed about 25 games in the last 10 years. I played last of us for about 45mins, haven't thought about it since.

Last of Us was one of the only ones I've finished recently. I would recommed finishing that guy. Interesting game with a little different feel to it.
