Anyone use a helicoil to fix a broken off spark plug problem?

I have a riding lawnmower that must have had a wrong size or cross threaded spark plug.
Been trying to figure out the right size helicoil, but also some say you can drill witha ton of grease without having to take off the block, but it seems risky

It's a cheap attempt to salvage a mower. Totally worth it IMO.

Yeah, I've done that with automotive engines without issue. Just go slow and use plenty of grease to catch the chips.

Had to use one on a cam journal bolt on my atv. That was 4 years ago and she's still going strong.

I used one on a transmission for a older dodge grand caravan. I had stripped the threads out removing the computer. After the Helicoil and new computer I had zero problems.
The Helicoil (if installed correctly) is stronger then without.

we do them all the time on the fords that blow the plugs out or someone breaks them of.
use grease on tap and pull the pullrope hard a few times before putting plug back in.
the shavings left will blow out when you start.
done hundreds and never had a problem

thanks for the responses.
I guess i havent been able to find anything that showed specifically how to do it and when it came in the mail it was just the 3 tools and hey said something about a taper and a tap.
It also didnt come with the coil looking part.
My one question was that if i had to take the block apart or just drill the plug out and then rethread it. One thing i read said that the shavings would ruin it and others said that they would just blow out.
