Last "great" player I remember from Pine was a gentleman by the name of Will Baker (running back). I watched him play one night (at Pine) and he ran through the opponents defense like a man possessed! Must of ran for over 300 yards that night. He was short and stout and mean as a bull. Early 1970's for anyone with any recollection. I was a youngster and yes he was a relative (cousin). Still lives in N. La.

Man, you're not Johnny Cash back from the dead writing lyrics for a new song are ya? Sorry, couldn't resist. Luv the post.

Derrick Dillon will most likely earn his offer. Probably sometime next season.

Another player in the area to keep an eye on for 2015 is Franklinton 4* OT Adrian McGee. We need depth at OT, and Adrian is drawing early interest from LSU.

That's an understatement. Although, Pine usually resembles a JV squad, itself. The lesser 5A teams on the Northshore that want to boost their totals in the win column usually schedule one of the two teams in predistrict play to tune up.

However, Derrick Dillon is the real deal. A man among boys, for sure.
