I think it was a mix of personnel and the players we did have not being coached to a level that they could be turned loose. Crowton's style just didn't blend at all with what Miles wanted to do. So he brought Krags in, and that didn't work out with his disease. The offense is as wide open as I have seen from LSU since I have been a fan. We just need to see how it will do against the Floridas and Alabamas.

Yes, we are running the same plays. But we are going down the field and mixing those plays up WAAAAAAAAAAAAY more. These guys look like they have been coached to an entirely different level IMO. I mean Beckham was dropping half these balls last year. Last year.....one bad pass and we ran up the middle the rest of the game.

Agreed execution is much better this year across the board on offense. The amount of drops we had last year made mett look worse and probably led to miles putting the ball on the ground more often.

it's not the same offense. we were pounding the middle constantly with the same plays over and over again last year. You only saw that on one series last night.

Agree. We are a pro style offense with some spread and are passing the ball more along with utilizing fullbacks and tight ends. We using more routes, instead of just the slant route, and will likely see more in coming weeks. Some of the same sets maybe, but not the same exact plays and routes necessarily.

+1 .. and prior to that we invested heavily in Perriloux.

A QB clusterflux followed by an unfortunate O coordinator illness in a Conference with no margin of error.

But now, the future's so bright ....

still have the feeling LSU will go more to run game later in the season - just my opinion - but Cam is looking like a genius so far

I think some, not all, of that is a result of A) confidence, and CC has helped there and B) the little things, which CC has also helped with.

To say the same another way: it's about when you call those same plays, and have you set it up to give that particular play the maximum chance of success.

Agree. And you can't run "2 yards and a cloud of dust" against bigger teams with more depth. They don't wear down as much.

Agreed we pass more there are a few similarities but this offense goes for the kill! ALso I get the feeling Cam will adjust his game plan and attack other teams weaknesses, not just run the same crap regardless of who we play.
