This. Maybe let them back in before the drive ends if a timeout is called.

No he wasnt faking. He dove after the QB and landed hard on his shoulder. A big guy like that who had all his weight come down on his shoulder would hurt a lot. He probably didnt feel its extent until after he stood up.

Also, there was an injury to an LSU guy a play or two before that so it wasnt like TCU was stepping on the gas. Im pretty sure the game had just come on after a commercial break.

Or they knew he wouldn't make it off the field in time and wanted to prevent getting a penalty. Not that I have a problem with it.

Injured players should be allowed the opportunity to leave the field. And a guy who is legitimately injured is going to be out for more than one play. But it's silly to mandate a set amount of time a guy has to miss because of an injury stoppage.

Make it the rest of the drive. It should all but eliminate this type of stuff, and if a player actually is injured to the point where he needs medical attention on the field and the game to stop, he should probably be out for at least the series anyway to be checked on, and then he can go back in on the next one.

How many plays did the Vandy receiver miss after puking his guts out on the field? I don't think it was more than two, and I think he caught a TD on that drive.

If you make a defensive player sit out a set amount of time after an injury stoppage, you have to do the same for offensive players.

Bears are thug POS

In seriousness though,I assume all the people who are saying they have no problem with this also have no problem when players dive in soccer, or flop in basketball?

Kind of funny when you remember how asshurt Tom Coughlin got about Tampa trying to hit Eli on a kneel down last year.

I guess the faking injuries is more accepted since more teams seem to do it.

Those are trying to influence the ref and the score directly

Fake injuries just slow down the pace

Soccer already accounts for it with stoppage time. Soccer doesn't need to change, but thanks for the awesome suggestion

Why do people feel the need to post when they have no idea what they are talking about?

Also, you're a moron.

Double also: A bunch of losers in this thread.

Pathetic. They, just like soccer, need to institute a rule where a player who gets "injured" has to sit out of the game for a certain amount of time and it should be a significant amount.

Agreed. I think having to sit out the rest of the possession or something similar would alleviate a lot of these problems

I am not surprised nor do I really care. With the way the rules are set up the defenses have to do something

Faking injuries influences the ref to call an injury timeout to slow down the game, helping defenses regain an advantage. It's a tactic designed to artifically change the makeup of a game, much the same way diving and flopping does in their respective sports. They may have their differences, but I see them as being the same in principle

Are you really trying to rationalize this in favor of football?

Faking because you're too weak and out of shape to keep up is even more pathetic than flopping to try and earn a foul call.

Nah. Did you see how hard he hit the ground. He was playing through a shoulder injury and landed on that shoulder.
